How is it misleading? He merely states what the price for iCloud storage is. It's unrelated to the lawsuit, but related to "iPhone Storage" as a whole. And it is indeed $0.99 a month for 20GB.
Also, air freshener is an absurdly inappropriate comparison to cloud service. One can Fully enjoy the Lexus without it. The iPnone without the cloud? Not so much.

All Apple had to do to fix this was to get rid of 16GB iPhones and start using 32GB - 128GB phones and make it clear that these phones only have a certain % disk space available. Atleast it's usable with the larger storage size.

Apple can afford to use larger SSDs but they still use such tiny storage while they've moved to 64bit apps that consumes almost double the storage.

    1) The lawsuit issue with the docuhebagsb still exists.

    2) 64-bit apps are not double in size.

    No.

They have done this since they first started selling hard drives.

    1. I've a 16GB 5c (it's the smallest of any of my iOS devices). It's quite usable as is, and with a few applications, etc., with about 3GB free space left. If I needed lots more space or application, I'd have gone with more storage.

    2. Pure 64-bit apps aren't near to being twice the size of 32-bit apps; hybrid 32/64-bit apps just nearly twice the size of 32-bit apps (ref. Rich Siegel of Bare Bone Software: "If we deliver a product for both 32- and 64-bit architectures in a single package, the code portion of it will be roughly twice the size, simply because you've got two compiled binaries in the package instead of one.

The overall package size difference won't be twice, though, because code size is only part of the contribution to overall package size.

The single-architecture package should be pretty close in size, no matter which architecture it is."

where is the comparison on how much space is lost on an android or windows mobile phone.
I believe anecdotally, that they suffer much worse

Moving forward, I see at least a couple of things that Apple is doing to address the storage issue:

    1. All Apps need to be 64-bit. If I read that correctly, they do not have to support 32-bit mode and based on some vague memories, it should theoretically reduce the App sizes, which would reduce their footprint on the device.

    2. iCloud Photos - Store on iCloud at full resolution and have a lo-res version on the device.

These are as far as known/ confirmed stories are concerned.

Then, if Apple can get their music streaming sorted this year, it should help as well.

Given that more music was streamed than bought last year, bandwidth/ cellular data charges do not seem to be much of an issue.

With Dropbox, Google Drive, Windows whateveritis, Mega, etc etc, there are ways of dealing with only 8GB. I also got the 64GB coz I couldn't be bothered 'dealing'. As for petrol tanks, I'm quite sure the analogy is flawed through abstraction as a vehicle does not require a set amount of petrol to come part of the car. Perhaps stated mpg should be the analogy here?

Any fool who's used an electronic device really ought to understand that an operating system comes part of the product and cannot be separated. Ignorance is no excuse. Stupidity ought to be shunned.
