Ugh. And in true Android fashion, they took a relatively simple interface and loaded it up with so many confusing options that you need to be a systems engineer in order to figure out how to do anything with it.
And they're promoting it for phones and tablets. Because as we all know, if an interface works well on a 1" screen, it will have to be even better on a 12" screen. I wonder how long before people start promoting it for ChromeOS - because it would be even more awesome on a 35" screen.

Well, it's a 3rd party approach, so they're going to promote it on anything that will run it. Configurability is a double-edged sword, and largely defines the Android experience, for better and for worse.
It's one thing to be dismissive of FM radio when it's a bunch of broadcasters refusing to get with the times. It's entirely another when millions of people lose power, cell and internet service and FM Radio is the difference between whether some of them live or die.
I don't see how Apple just ignores this issue. The iPhone will inevitably get branded as the phone you don't want to have in a disaster.

You mean other than the one on the front page?
No FM radio for two years. No FM antenna. Redesign needed. Pai was either unaware of both which makes him unfit for his job, or has another agenda.

I think we were all unaware until Schiller tweeted it yesterday. I don't know that anyone expected Apple would have taken deliberate steps to remove the FM function from the Qualcomm modem supplied to other OEM's. Perfectly within their rights to do so, and perhaps it was done to avoid just this issue of being compelled to enable it as Mexico has now legislated. It's not as tho they would have been unaware this was a likely scenario.

"This is a short term device; not jewelry"
"Not really waterproof"
"You must charge the watch at least nightly or more if used heavily"
Fair enough.
In those ads, they do a great job showing off the app launcher interface. That is a brilliant interface for this form factor. It looks like the AW dev community is starting to respond.
