well then stop bitching about the AppleTV if its the best.

Are you also annoyed that you have to wait for iPhone9?  I mean seriously.  Apple will bring it out when everything is in place, not a second sooner.

Would you be annoyed if you were still waiting for iPhone 4?

AppleTV is right for a $79 device.  You just have some pipe dream of what it SHOULD BE.  Apple is not going to invest billions in resources to a $99 product.  Sorry that's not their style.

Are you somehow completely unaware that all evidence shows that Apple is indeed inching closer to releasing exactly what everyone is pining for? The problem is that people wanted in 2012. And 2013. And 2014. And 2015. And it still hasn't happened...despite the mounting evidence that soon, it will.

You've yet to make a single point that makes any sense at all.

Even the price was wrong too. It's $69, not $79...

The point is Apple won't bring out their AWESOME APPLE TV until the content deals are done.

Again like I said if Apple brought out their upgraded AppleTV last year without content deals that would be like releasing the iPod without iTunes.  Apple is about tying in Hardware, Software, and Services.  Apple has the Hardware and Software ready.  They are just waiting for the services (content deals).  How hard is that to understand?

AppleTV in its current form is a hobby.  Apple is making very little profit selling it.  But when they bring out the new AppleTV it won't be a hobby.  It will be a major line of business.  Thus they will sell it at normal Apple gross margins.  I expect the AppleTV to be $199-$399 or even more.  Could Apple justify that price if all the new AppleTV did was have an App store and play games?  HELL NO.  You need TV content to make it worth it.  With TV content the value of the device is seen RIGHT AWAY.

Want another bet on those? I would say the new ATV hardware will be only marginally updated: chips, RAM and storage. OS may be worked on a bit too, but not drastic change. My price target is $99-$149.

    2 weeks ban yourself?

The next AppleTV will not be $99-$149.  Those are hobby prices.  At those prices Apple is only making $10 a unit.

The NEW AppleTV will have significant onboard storage.  Probably 128 GB or 256 GB to act as a dvr.  Plus they will probably give you some 'free' cloud storage.  Probably get the latest A9 chip or at least the A8 and nice amount of RAM.

I think you will still be able to use the original AppleTV as satellite devices but you are going to need the NEW AppleTV as the 'server'.  In other words I don't think you will be able to get TV content if you only have the old AppleTV.  So you would have to buy the NEW AppleTV and 2 or 3 original AppleTV's for your other TV's. You will be able to access the DVR through Wifi in the home.

The $99 price is way too cheap.  Name me the last pilliar product that Apple sold for $99?  IMO AppleTV will be the next pilliar product next to iPad, iPhone, Mac, and Watch.

They'll make money on service subscriptions. I even think they may go down to something like Chromecast or Fire TV, cheap hardware, great service. Unless, they want to make ATT a game console too, I don't see the above speculated specs will see the day light. My bet still stands. Wanna take it?

    Deal?

I'm talking about starting price, not one with options and accessory loaded. However, I believe there's no reason Apple would confuse their customers by releasing multiple ATV based on the damn storage. Their target is subscription service and they want every household to own AT LEAST one unit. By pricing it too high, it'll discourage the potential subscribers. Remember, Apple want to sell more services on ATV per household.

So, I'll take the deal if I can buy my next generation of ATV with a budget from $99-$149. Don't flip flop. Your starting price is $199 and I don't believe it.
