Rumor: With launch looming, 'iPhone 6s' production delayed by 1-2 weeks
The assembly lines preparing to churn out Apple's next-generation iPhones have reportedly been briefly delayed, with full-scale production now slated to start later this month in advance of a likely September introduction.

Apple has pulled back orders for the current-generation iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to free manufacturing capacity for its new handsets, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo's report was first noted by UDN.
Kuo believes that longtime Apple partner Foxconn will be asked to handle 60 percent of the orders for the so-called "iPhone 6s," with Pegatron picking up the rest. Orders for the larger "iPhone 6s Plus" would be filled entirely by Foxconn.
Relatively little is know about Apple's next-generation iPhones, though they are expected to add Force Touch capability along with a new A9 processor. Some say that they could also add another gigabyte of RAM to take the base capacity to 2 gigabytes.
Recent parts leaks have reinforced the idea that Apple will stick with its previous strategy of keeping the exterior design largely unchanged for the "s" generation. Apple could make a small concession by slightly increasing the new handsets' thickness to accommodate Force Touch, but that remains unclear.

There, now we have 2 headlines exactly as accurate as each other and say completely opposite things.

I forgot to mention, my anonymous and unknowable sources (which are 100% reliable) informed me of this entirely impossible to prove-or-disprove fact.
I'm going to name this field of study "science". I hope that word isn't taken...
production is going great? greater supply than demand? doomed!
doomed!
Kuo Vadis?
AND he's no longer "well connected"!
54 million was a well-connected estimate. It must be Apple who is wrong for not performing as predicted. Tim Cook should have hyped the Watch more! (And other irrational rants from the post-earnings blame storm) /s
Kuo Vadis?
He might be. Nobody knows... If AI writers didn't constantly remind us what planet we were on, we might assume this was all taking place on Mars. /s
There is nothing in the original Chinese story that suggests that Apple itself delayed production. Due to Google translate, and an apparently deliberate misreading, it could theoretically, possibly be what Kuo is saying. But it's actually pretty clear he%u2019s saying that production is ramping up 1-2 weeks later than his previous prediction (especially since he gives no reason for the "delay" and doesn't even use the word delay.
Here%u2019s the google translation:
[em]Highly anticipated new iPhone. Kuo Ming-Ji in the latest report that the new iPhone production time than the original estimate of about 1-2 weeks later, the new iPhone will be in mass production in late August.[/em]
Kuo sets Apple's schedule and finance (sic), so any change from those fantasy numbers are obviously "bad".
Nope.
Funny how there is never a sport from Asia saying: Everything Is Progressing Smoothly. No Delays Whatsoever.
I think that "everything is progressing smoothly" is already taken!

THE UNTHINKABLE HAS HAPPENED. He has been demoted to "KGI Securities analyst."
He is no longer "well-connected", it appears.
