The only thing extraordinary is the delusion that plunge protection didn’t save the day today.
See above. Next you’ll be telling us that China’s market isn’t manipulated.
The exchange said if trading fell by more than 10%(?) they'd stop trading. That's absurd. Markets should stay open no matter how "bad" it gets. Everyone plays that game voluntarily.
Speak to any Wall street veteran and they will flat out state that manipulation is part of the game.
The stock market is pretty much a zero sum game. For every winner there is a loser. Do you not think that the big boys who hold 90% of the cash won't manipulate the market to make sure the 10% small guys lose their shirt?
Localised manipulation of individual stocks, sure. But the claim was that the entire crash has been engineered by manipulators. Those "90% of big boys" are not colluding to cause a global crash. That's ridiculous talk, and entirely without evidence.
You bet your life Wall St is involved in market manipulation.
The market insiders love these significant dips, that's how they get rich off the typical scared investors who sell off low.
A steady market going in one direction the insiders hate !
And who forces the price low? Who forces scared investors to sell low? Absolute nonsense. There are just as many people with just as much buying power who are invested in the stock price rising. The only thing "manipulating" the stock price is the reality of expectation and market forces.
To take it to the extreme on market manipulation, you obviously know nothing about Hedge Funds.
TIP: With your very limited view of the stock market, please stay away and save your money at 1%.

A limit on daily market downs is necessary for it to survive.
With fast trading options and online trading everywhere, some stability is needed else all he-- will break lose.
Another market side watcher; stay there please or it will eat you !
Ha! I'm actually looking forward to when the Bitcoin-based stock exchange opens. If I recall correctly, either the 'Facebook twins' are behind it or possibly another person.
Explicitly presented it. Keep your illiterate mouth shut.
Whatevs idiot.
Amazing how you don't even try to disguise your double standard for the proof you offer and that which you demand of others. You haven't presented shit.
Nikkei’s down 500 right now. Shanghai will soon follow. Then Europe, then New York again.
Eventually the government will step in, and/or the market will close. When the market closes, as it did earlier today, and as it has many times in the past, I’ll post here again about how you’re suffering from delusions regarding the lack of manipulation in the stock market.
Eventually the market will close? No shit sherlock, it closes every day. What kind of insight is that?
The fact that the market is down is supposed to prove that there's manipulation going on? You're the delusional one if you think this constitutes any form of evidence or proof. It's down for a multitude of reasons, and has been teetering on the edge of a burst for a while now.
Nope, the fact that it went up immediately afterward. But you knew that because we were already discussing it.
You didn't mention anything about it going up in your previous post, I'm just responding to the rubbish you're making up here. So now the fact that there's fluctuations prove that there's manipulation going on?
You do realise that the stock market goes up and down? That's kind of it's thing. It's what it does.
Check back in when you have something resembling actual evidence. I won't hold my breath. " src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

You need to read up on how the market works.
Your view is simplistic and naive.

Avoiding the call for evidence as usual then. Noted.
