Wow! This event has lasted over an hour and half and is still going strong. Lots of new stuff from Apple!
Quote: "The Apple Pencil also includes a Lightning Connector that can be inserted into the iPad Pro, allowing the accessory to be recharged quickly on the go."
Good idea! I hope Apple expands on it. Given the much larger battery in a iPad Pro, let's hope that there'll be adapters that let users charge their USB Bluetooth keyboards and maybe even iPhones.
I also like how Apple is expanding Force Touch to include features like those of a mouse, including hover, something touch screens did not have before.
I'll have to try tactile feedback before I comment on it, but I'm glad to see it migrate to the iPhone.
So Apple basically copied the Surface Pro 3 with a keyboard cover and stylus.
Interestingly enough, it looks like MS put more effort into building apps for the iPad than they did for their own hardware ... then again, the Mac division has always been pretty impressive, even with MS management tying their hands behind their backs.
That is up to Apple! Even I'm a little surprised by the big jump in performance alluded to here. If A9X actually delivers the figures quoted this will be a very nice machine and probably outperform the Mac Book
We got till January, presumably, to see what happens with the MacBook 2. Personally, I didn't think the Ax processors to be ready to make this jump so quickly.
Well this is nonsense, iPad is very much a real computer! The implementation of file handling is just terrible however.
So with a keyboard added on there should be no reason to have a Mac then. It would be the same as a laptop. I think not. There are many limitations to iOS from file handling to lack multiple of multiple accounts
I've got a bit of an issue with their suggestion to charge the Apple Pencil through the iPad Pro. So you pop the end of the Pencil off and stick it straight in the Pro's lightening port? Um...well then you have it sticking out the bottom and it's liable to snap off. Plus it will look ridiculous! They should have added a silo within the body of the Pro to store and charge the pencil like other vendors do.

Not sure why multiple accounts are important. Do people really share their tablets? I rarely even anyone sharing laptops ... and I am not one of those people that is going to share my highend, $1000+ tablet with my kids ... that is what the low-end iPad Mini is for.
Ah yes the hallmark of the limited. Don't respond just try to send those who might have a different opinion away. I've been using Apple for over 30 years and am well entitled to express my opinion of their products. If you can't give an intelligent response don't bother.

I wonder if the pen is actually thicker than the iPad Pro. Besides, it is wasted space in the chassis. I have to think the pen ships with a regular USB charger and the plug into the iPad is for quick emergency situations only.

Yes in a business setting people almost always have individual accounts to log onto a computer. That's vital to security and accountability.
Don’t respond just try to send those who might have a different opinion away. ...and am well entitled to express my opinion of their products.
Your “opinion” is garbage. You “can” have the “opinion” that giraffes are carnivores, but no one, anywhere, will do anything but make fun of you for it.
I've been using Apple for over 30 years
Literally no one, anywhere, cares.
#4: Occasionally preface arguments with "I love Apple, but…" or "As an Apple stockholder…"
#5: Claiming (desired) ownership of Apple products renders one resistant to rebuttal. The number of products owned is directly proportional to how safe you are from rebuttal.
#8: All of Apple's designs are copied from Braun or other existing products.
If you can't give an intelligent response don't bother.
MacRumors loves trolls. Why not go there?

Well, now you have an individual computer, so it’s even more secure and accountable. Others can’t get to your stuff and you’re liable for everything in it.

Really? Every company that I have been at pass out individual laptops to employees (we are talking about portable devices here.) IT does have a root account, but the iOS eco-system takes care of that by having deployment software. I really haven't seen multiple employees using the same laptops.

Once again you prove nothing more than your own idiocy. Of course through the years here we've seen that over and over with your telling us how iPhones should never get bigger and that iPad would never come as a mini etc.
They need to stop screwing around. Let individual apps use mouse pointing. THAT'S ALL ANYONE WANTS. I'd take an air with a mouse over anything.
They would RULE THE MARKET with that product... but instead, another hobbled half measure - this one a copy of Microsoft Surface, but less capable. Wow have things changed.

Of course they do. In my IT dept we all have laptops. We do need to log into other workstations or laptops at times.
Other limitations include not being able to install any software that's not an app. Also mobile browsers can be incompatible with some web portal based applications.

I bet the low end is completely blown out, though, as thin as it is.

In my experience on this site, intelligent posts DO tend to encourage intelligent responses.

Welcome. Get the fu?k out. You sat on an account for five years just to troll?

You posted nothing but drivel and manure here for your entire history. Go back and play in your sandbox and leave the adults alone.
