iOS 9 adoption at 12.5% and rising after 24 hours of availability
Adoption of Apple's new iOS 9 mobile operating system reached 12.5 percent approximately 24 hours after launch, one analytics firm claims, a rate on track with last year's iOS 8 debut.

According to live updates provided by Mixpanel, iOS 9's swelling numbers appear to be driven mainly by users upgrading from iOS 8, as impressions from devices running older operating systems are holding steady.
As of 4 p.m. Pacific, iOS 9 accounted for about 15 percent of analyzed traffic, with various flavors of iOS 8 taking over 78 percent and older iOS versions at 7 percent. Adoption rates are similar to last year's iOS 8 launch, but less than iOS 7, an unsurprising result considering 2013's massive UI overhaul. By some counts iOS 7 distribution soared above 31 percent after 48 hours of availability.
Apple launched iOS 9 on Wednesday with a number of major changes to system level features like enhancements to Siri, proactive search functions and new apps like News and Wallet. Other modifications include better battery management and first-party app improvements.
Further, iOS 9 sports a number of features exclusive to iPad's larger screen like Slide Over and Split View multitasking, as well as picture-in-picture video viewing. QuickType keyboard tweaks open the door to new multitouch gestures and iPad-only shortcuts.
As with previous iOS updates, iOS 9 is built to take full advantage of Apple's latest mobile hardware. For example, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, which start shipping next week, get support for 3D Touch gestures, while the forthcoming 12.9-inch iPad Pro is capable of true split-screen multitasking. In combination with specialized hardware on iPad Pro, the OS also enables compatibility with the pressure- and tilt-sensitive Apple Pencil.

It has been unusually quiet on the Apple Discussion Forums. Oh there’s the usual screaming and hollering by a few screwballs about bricked phones and such, you know the background noise that accompanies any release. But it seems to be a successful launch and rightfully so. This has probably been the most pre-tested iOS release ever. Developer and public beta programs have seen to that.
Anyone?
I saw a doom article earlier that read "iOS 9 adoption slower than previous update".
Bragging purposes for resale?
It's the only thing I can think of. A lot of non techies aren't sure what runs what.

I admit I'm still a bit on the fence. My new phone arrives next Friday. So is there any advantage to upgrading to iOS 9 on my current 6 Plus?
Anyone?
If you're selling it like I am to Gazelle, then don't waste your time. Gazelle wants you to delete/erase all data and settings before mailing it to them. Enjoy your new iPhone!
Probably overthinking it.
I am surprised how much better Siri is working on my iPhone 5. Much faster at taking dictation into text messages and more accurate besides.
Wow. Siri is much faster on my iPhone 6. Not just "snappy." It's instantaneous now.
Must have been re-coded in Swift or something.
I'm hoping watchOS 2.0 will make Siri faster on ?Watch.
[Update: Siri is faster on ?Watch paired with iPhone 6 + iOS 9.0, even with watchOS 1.0.]
Does tap-and-hold on a photo in your album no longer bring up the copy pop-up?

Ad Blocking alone is worth it. The webpage will be loaded much faster.

This is the history of good releases... 'hu-hum' is never reported. '[insert molehill]-GATE' is what people rally around [good/bad].'
My Personal Opinion: my 5c and 4s are different, but better. not significant [most cool stuff is 6 and higher], but I'm impressed. I'm finding Siri better, notifications better, and spotlight [I still want to call it sherlock] better.
Tonight, my iPad 2 is migrating. I'm waiting for my wife's 6 until I get my 6s, so she can see the differences before I update her (I'm thinking just the move to SanFrancisco will cause her to go crazy).
Speaking of iOS 9...

It doesn't. Need to use Share Sheet.
Helluva bug, that is.
I updated to 9 on 6+ and iPad Air... MANY bugs!!!
What bugs?

My 5 has been a bit hinky today. It has gotten hung up several times doing standard menu activities. I did a power off/on just now and am waiting to see if it is any better.
What bugs?
I'm going to go out and a limb here and guess... crickets?
