With Brexit, English corporations like Apple in Ireland, no longer have to worry about taxes from other European nations.
It's hilarious to read all this FUD here. Ireland is a full member of the EU, Brexit does not change that at all and Apple is not an "English corporation". Further the whole point of the EU is that you only pay regional taxes but get unencumbered access to the whole market. The only problem here is: Ireland has tax laws which are specifically very lax and permissive to attract companies like Apple while at the same time the Irish household is rubbish due to the exact same laws so they're under scrutiny and a lot of pressure to adjust those tax laws and charge fair taxes.

I hope Vestagar has the sense to politely tell him to fuck off and mind his own business, which this quite clearly isn't.
It is a woman, and it is her business.  She is responsible for EU competition rules.  And she believes that the government of Ireland has given illegal state fund to Apple by granting Apple to pay only about 1% corporate tax iso. the normal 12.5%
    1)  A person is not usually an 'it'

    2)  I am well aware of who and what Margrethe Vestager is.  I live in Ireland and have, I believe, a very good grasp of what the issue is.

    2)  You appear to have completely misinterpreted what I wrote.   Yes, It is Vestagers business, it is not Jacob Lew's, hence what I said.

The EU a.k.a. Germany are just extorting U.S. firms like Apple with their "back taxes" scheme.... If no international body (WTO?) will step in and prevent this type of behavior, the U.S. needs to start playing equally dirty with all big European corporations doing business in the United States.  (BMW, VW, etc.)  Meanwhile we should be strengthening our future economic ties with the U.K., who, unlike Germany, are actually our friends.
Taking into account that most of the fines for illegal state aids and that most of the fines for anti competitive behaviour have gone to EU companies, perhaps you should provide some link to your claims

The UK has better health system for starters, my current understanding is the way the EU works it tells each country how may people they have to take based on their ability to support and the UK can support more and has their fair share.

If you're talking about the refugee emigrant crisis, the UK has taken a lot few than less populated countries

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34131911

If you're talking about EU immigrants, there is free movement and EU can't say any country to take an amount of people

And do you have any source for that claim that UK health system is better than the other countries from the EU?
Cool! You learned how to look up stuff on the Internet. You didn't know how to do that before.

Both Apple and the Irish government have denied any wrongdoing, and the latter has promised to fight any ordered payments.

Actually, it's "...the former has promised..."  The latter is the second party named.   The Irish government is not fighting any payments.
    Ireland said they'd fight it

Hilarious that you cite the US Supreme Court as having jurisdiction over Irish tax law -- that is rich.  I guess that's what they teach in public schools these days.

Apple DID pay its fair share of taxes in Ireland -- they paid exactly what Irish law asked of them.
He's talking about the taxes Apple evades here...
Apple was interrogated in front of Congress and investigated. Congress found Apple did nothing wrong, NOTHING, NO-THING wrong, and paid all their taxes as required by law. Just because you've got your panties in a riff living paycheck to paycheck doesn't mean Apple evaded taxes. They are not the reason you're struggling financially, nor are they the reason any Euro fags or EU companies are struggling either.

The Apple prescence is in the Republic of Ireland, which has never been English, and hasn't been British for almost 100 years.  There is no plan for the RoI to exit the EU.
Interesting, because during my trip to ROI last week, every person I met congratulated me for leaving the EU, and wanted their own referendum to leave the EU.
It's crumbling, like it or not. Now or later, the EU will die.
    And then you woke up

I can't wait to see prices get jacked up in the EU and for you to have to start paying more for your Apple products.

Yes. You guys need to get over the fact that American companies have money and have thus earned their status in the world. It's not some unfair game. Apple brings hundreds of millions of dollars of investment into local economies they establish themselves in (like Ireland), help create new huge markets and hundred million dollar companies like ZAGG and Mophie, etc (not discourage competition as your economically dyslexic politicians claim), and create jobs. That is far better than what your governments would do with the tax dollars you so desperately want from Apple. Whatever 'deals' you complain about are well deserved by a company like Apple. If you don't like it, enjoy the price hikes in your continent. It's simple economics.

What nonsense.  There are no Euro "fags" saying that competition is unfair, or that Apple don't deserve their success.  But Apple are plenty well rewarded without the need for state aid. Profit is the reward, not corporate welfare.

Yes the EU company's have also been fined. Maybe in larger numbers. But the simple fact is, the EU company's get these joke fines, while the U.S. company's get fines for MILLIONS. It's not even close.

Even if the numbers are heavier in one direction, that's not proof of anything.  You need to proove that the punishment is disproportionate when compared to the violations.

Yap, joke fines. Why don't you people learn a little before showing how big your ignorance about the EU is?
