Trump would be a major idiot to have a trade war with China. It would be economic suicide for the world. It'd be like going to war with yourself. Not a playground to test out your hair-brained ideas hairdo.
Let's just hope it's bullshit he spouted—as he does—merely to fool Americans into electing him. I get that Americans didn't want Hilary, but boy that's little choice there. One big fat big liar and another little skinny big fat liar. Like Pepsi or Pepsi with extra sugar thrown in.
The thing is... the american people DID want Hilary... she won the popular vote over trump... the electoral system is just broken if you ask me...
I didn't vote for another entity to place their vote... I voted for the president... oh well...
Unfortunately for you (and many other occupiers), you can't change the rules of the game while it's being played. Founding father's implemented this to avoid mob rule and allow small states to have a voice. Had Hill won the electoral and Trump the pop you would have been just fine with the electoral college.
Trumpo himself said he wanted to get rid of it until suddenly it went in his favor.
Trump and his soon to be selected advisors are not dumb.
Trump doesn't believe in global warming and Pence doesn't believe in evolution and thinks you can cure gay people with hynotherapy.
You sure about that first statement?
IMO you're buying into a myth propagated by the far left arm of some media outlets. I can't find any evidence whatsoever that Pence even referred to sexual persuasion as a choice, much less that it could be "cured" by hypnotherapy. Your statement of fact isn't. Pence hasn't even denied evolution exists AFAIK tho you wish to claim he did. Instead he believes God is involved (feel free to disprove it), not that evolution hasn't taken place since then. If you are so intolerant of those whose beliefs differ from yours fair enough, but don't invent reasons to attack those same people by making them appear somehow less worthy than you by using half truths or someone's imagination.
EDIT: Here's your quote upon which some press elements have built its intentionally misleading story that you've chosen to accept as the truth.... “This debate today is not about discrimination. I believe that if someone chooses another lifestyle than I have chosen, that is their right in a free society.” As for Trump himself who is demonized as being an enemy of the LGBT community I've no idea where they (you?) get that from. Based on what?
Trump is fine with gay people, surprisingly since he hates everyone else. Maybe he's bi who knows, but i never said anything about that. He for sure doesn't believe humans have anything today with global warming though.
Regardless they're both complete dipshits and I don't even like Hillary and am not a Democrat.
The best way to compete with China is by eliminating barriers to business that already exist in the US due to onerous Federal regulations, but also China needs to be kicked out of the WTO (World Trade Organization) for product dumping, currency manipulation and IP theft (for starters).
Just for the US to START to compete on a better footing with regard to our unskilled and large unemployed labor force, the Federal minimum wage should finally be ended. It would at least let millions gain valuable experience, at wages which would be negotiated instead of arbitrarily decided by Washington.
Better yet let's make a maximum wage and actually pay workers a living wage, instead of giving the CEO 200 million a year.
Are you as ignorant as you sound? The damage about to be perpetrated by this clown and the idiots surrounding him will go far beyond trade. One just needs to look at what they've been doing since the election - like the complete buffoon he put in charge of environmental issues and evaluating the EPA. He was elected out of ignorance - mostly clueless individuals to the real issues and the world around us. If people want real change they should start by getting a good education, by actually studying the real issues and gaining a better understanding of the world we live in.
Here you go, and this is a flaming liberal talking:
Though I mostly agree with the video I also completely agree with the earlier posted comment.
The problem is we now have half of a society that actually refuses to believe in science and no longer debates anything, at least not with their brains. I would say yes we need to educate, yes we need to have real conversation, as Bernie Sanders himself said and we agree, but it's very difficult to engage in real conversation with delusional people who think you trying to debate and educate makes you a know it all commie.
Psychology also tells us that the more you debate on any particular topic the more people stick to their original beliefs and even double down on them, even if they know they may be wrong. It's something about the human/animal condition of not admitting defeat. And to top it off the media has done nothing but follow the money and make things much much worse at the expense of all of us.
Trump and his soon to be selected advisors are not dumb.

Ah, so someone SAID that's what Pence meant several years ago if you read between the lines, not that Pence actually said any such thing. Fair enough. Depending on media outlets to offer up the facts instead of their interpretation of what might actually have been meant being posed at the facts makes it tough to figure out where anyone stands on issues. Intentionally vague comments by politicians, talking while not actually committing anything, only make it worse. We all end up guessing based on what we would like to believe they said
China, we don't give rats you-know-what about your threats. Impose high tariffs on all imports that can't be manufactured in this country. And PolicyMan you're wrong - check the facts. Trump had more popular votes as well.
ha ha ha, if facts were check or mattered at all Trump would not have won.
Every report has to be put out by a reporter that is either trusted by the audience or not so it's difficult to convey information authoritatively. Wikipedia has demonstrated this issue vs old printed encyclopaedias. There are conflicts between timeliness, specificity and authoritativeness. Sometimes recent news is more accurate than authoritative news; detailed news can be more accurate than concise. Also large scale news is delivered by many individuals with varying degrees of integrity and biases. There's something missing in the reception of information as much as the delivery, there will always be conflicting information available. The internet gives everyone a voice without any authority so rather than listening to counter-arguments, people argue against them and simply align with whoever is on their side, there is a lack of intelligent objectivity. People can take medical advice from the internet more seriously than from a doctor, especially if a doctor is saying something the patient doesn't agree with.
Elections are about voting for a representative and it's someone who has a resonating perception of the available facts as the voters. Regardless of what the facts had been, it's always how closely the representative's perceptions mirror those of the voters. This is why people worry about the social media era where perceptions are so easily manipulated on a large scale with basic tweets and are conflated with entertainment.
A big mistake that is being made with these strongly opposing right/left elections worldwide is to dismiss them as solely racist or bigoted agendas that shouldn't succeed in any civil society. This is a very small subset of a much larger point of tension, which is the conflict between nationalism and globalism.
When we hear people talk about how things were decades ago and a desire to get back to this, there are a lot of factors that played into how things were and one of those was globalized transport and information infrastructure that has allowed cultures, ideas and races to mix more easily than ever before. Decades ago, there was no internet and a century ago, mass transit wasn't close to what we have now where billions of people take inexpensive flights every year.
What has resulted from the transport and information infrastructure is a convergence of cultures, which are not all compatible and some people have seen a dilution of their national identity, which is defined by the major population groups. It has impacted businesses because now it's much easier to outsource manufacturing and ship the products to the buyers. At the same time, it has greatly benefitted businesses as they can sell to a global audience.
There's a never-ending struggle to find an appropriate balance between nationalism and globalism, this is one of those things that can't be one way or another entirely simply due to population demographics and cultural affiliation. Every country wants to see their own groups succeed, we see this with international competitions and we see businesses promoting their home country. Apple is very proud of their 'designed in California' label because it's their identity. When a country excels in the global stage, then the people of that country benefit too.
The question is how best to go about promoting ones own interests without alienating others, to your detriment. Every country wants to protect local manufacturing because that's how people who share their national identity earn a living and have a good quality of life. This happens no matter what political affiliation leaders have. You have protectionism for local businesses in every country, this happened with Apple trying to get into the Indian market.
The media that reports on these stories are always trying to make news entertaining so they embellish their language. When they talk about trade wars and access to markets, the main result will be price fluctuation. It's not a 'war', it's just competition and protectionism that happens everywhere already. Businesses will figure out how to adapt to any new situation that arises and it's not likely that the decision makers are going to make decisions that will clearly result in a loss because that's not their aim.
One thing to always keep in mind with Trump is that he is the perfect embodiment of the modern-day American Dream. This is no longer about the means to success (opportunity), it's about success by any means. It's not about quality of life as much as it is about being so rich that you don't answer to anyone and you aren't subservient to anyone. It's about being a 70 year old billionaire with a full head of wispy hair and married to a model. But it's fake. What Trump has stems from wealth and he racked up billions in debts that were too big to fail so he got bailed out by the banks:
That will be a source of his insecurity because he understands how fake it all is, the absurdity that some people are allowed to go into billions in debt while others sleep outside and would struggle to find food, derided by society. Imagine if any random person could walk into a bank and request a multi-billion dollar credit line. You'd have to be pretty bad to not turn that into something successful. The first thing you'd do is hire competent people to run your business(es).
This is why Trump actually makes sense as a US representative because it's all style and bravado and no substance. This is how the rest of the world sees the US. It's also the way everything is going. People are tired of genuine because it means getting up early and putting in a hard day's work with little to no reward to show for it. People want the Kardashians, the dream lifestyle, they want the news they like to hear. Everybody ought to know that it's the individuals who get up every day doing menial, unrewarding jobs and keep the system ticking over who are the backbone of any country just like they are the ones who make people like Trump rich. And what motivates those people? Is it the aspiration to become the wife jilted for a younger lover, the powerless crazy old guy who rails against the political and economic system? Or is it the billionaire who answers to nobody with the model wife who doesn't have to do a day's work?
No matter what decisions are made from the top regarding international trade relations, it's the workers who determine the success of the businesses and this will happen regardless, while the people at the top take the credit for it and they know it. As long as people retain some semblance of objectivity and understand how fake it all is, it's not going to matter. Make America Fake Again, it will be entertaining if nothing else.
