Pretty damn slow response time. I guess Qualcomm is feeling the heat from Apples likely launch of this technology in only a couple months. So they need to let people know what they're up to.

"Hey look!!! We're doing this too, and we did it firs!!"
They're building on the Sense ID they introduced last year, and this announcement of the latest version is at Mobile World Congress going on now which could account for the timing. Lots on new tech gets a reveal at MWC. But yeah like you I think there's also an intent to let the rest of the industry know they aren't sitting still if Apple actually gets something working by the end of the year.
I'd surmise that Samsung would like to deliver their own solution fairly soon as well, but it sounds like it won't make it in time for the Note 8.

Sammy was depending on Synaptics, who didn't deliver. Based on Samsung's support of Apple in the Qualcomm dispute I believe they also have issues with the big Q and may need to avoid dealing with them as much as possible at least until things are settled with licensing.

This is big for Qualcomm and android.
It will insure they have $400 knockoff phones that do the same thing as Apple iPhone 8 (Apple has to get this working the best or the stock will sink).

I wonder if SamSung's Exnos processor will work with this or only Qualcomm's. Samsung may have to eat humble pie if they can't get theirs working.

I’m a twenty-year enterprise & web developer vet and have never heard of “bridging”.

It seems more likely to me your tools have an issue (like with character sets). Judging by the fact that the forum code doesn’t even redirect an authenticated user from the login page back to the referring page tells me that the code just hasn’t been ratcheted down.

Whatever the exact cause, it isn't an issue. We all know what is meant if it shows only 'm' and he said the forums were only five percent of AI. They will fix it if they have time to get around  to it. If this were a character that was going to be popping up everywhere it would be different but in the meantime I don't see it as an issue, given their priorities. It might be supremely simple to fix or not but someone still has to dedicate some time to it and there might be other more pressing issues to deal with.
