Rene Ritchie (iMore) put the squash on this crap. Whatever the new iPhone is it was wrapped up months ago and is already in production. Apple simply doesn’t operate like the these rumors suggest. Releasing products with features disabled is something Samsung does (Bixby). This is the craziest nonsense to come out of the rumor mill in years.

And remember this. Apple hasn’t said a damn thing about any additional iPhone model being released this year. People have assumed Apple would produce a tenth anniversary iPhone. That’s all.
Um, what about portrait mode? Apple announced it but the feature didn’t work right away.
Um, a MINOR software feature that is perfect for a .1 release got a .1 release? Stop the presses, it is the SAME THING as Apple allegedly having massive hardware panic at the eleventh hour!

What a crock of shit. Your posts have become an utter disaster.

Aren't "anniversary" products something non-technology companies do? Outside of the tech blogs nobody really cares how many years a have passed since the original iPhone was launched. Apple is not about looking back.
Yes, only tech blogs give a shit that its a 10th anniversary of something. To Apple it is just the next iPhone.

    Put...the...FingerPrint...Reader ...into ...the...PowerButton...just...as...Sony...Does.
Let me just tell you, that is possibly even dumber of an idea than putting it on the back. Oh yes lets put the fingerprint sensor in a 1 mm thin button that also doubles as shutting off the device if you click it and instead of just touching it. Oh and you can only reasonably touch the thing with your thumb....IF you're right handed. I like to believe Apple fires people for less.

I'm sure it would work well. And be a great user experience. Nope. And Nope.

The news media is reporting these stories as though this is the first smartphone Apple has ever made. There seems to be issues with everything on the iPhone. I find it strange that these media pundits would have access to all this inside information. If these reports were true then there would have to be someone inside of Apple telling this stuff. I still can't understand how these people can get away with making up these stories.

What I can't understand even more is why AppleInsiders would post this bullshit.  I don't think Apple has felt "panic" in a decade.

I was responding to a specific post which refuted what was said in that post. Portrait mode isn’t a minor software feature. If it was Phil Schiller wouldn’t have spent all that time on stage discussing it. I wasn’t complaining about the delay just pointing out that it’s BS that Apple never announces something that ends up being delayed.

Notwithstanding all the denial and cheerleading on this thread, taken in its entirety, the recent reports about engineering issues with the iPhone 8 are credible.

It is possible that Apple will overproduce a little improved and little-changed iPhone 7s/7s that no one wants while the hotly awaited iPhone 8 either disappoints in quality or quantity or gets pushed back severely. Seriously, this is a dangerous situation for Apple.

Blahblah blah blah, you registered to crap out this huh.
There is no REPORT, there are barely a few words that don't even say what you purport them to say.

You could have just stuck with the 2-3mm for more battery part and been good. Then you just add ridiculous statements to undermine your point:

The phone is too slim to hold? That doesn't even make sense. Humans don't have trouble holding thin things.

Bending? Seriously? Who is talking about this? Just don't lean on the damned phone like a cane.

Knives have handles precisely because being too thin makes them difficult to hold. A knife from which both sides of the handle have fallen off is very uncomfortable in your hand. The same problem appears with ultra thin phones and whether they have rounded edges or not, although other factors come into play too.

    Hmmm....

Is it me, or are the doom and gloom reports starting earlier this year?  Also, are we assuming that the iPhone Pro will be launching in September?

Make sure I have this correct.  There're software issues in a system not due out for months at the earliest.  Is testing and iteration not part of product development?
In other news, the 2018 and 2019 iPhone is having some software issues too, hopefully they can figure it out in time...

I'm not one to speculate but these rumors are questionable.  Hundreds of successful iQ rollouts and Apple's custom designed power solutions, including fast charging tech in current products, refutes any real threat.
On the camera front, I'm sure someone in any of the AR teams acquired in the past couple years, might figure it out.  Or maybe Apple bought them all for fun, oh wait, AR worked flawless in the demos.

Really?  These pathetic rumors over a month before the keynote?  We could just wait and see what happens...
    What is the iPhone Pro?
One of the names everyone is giving the advanced new iPhone with all the new tech.  Assuming Apple develops such a device instead of making it the new 7S+.  The theoretical device has been called the iPhone 8 and iPhone Edition (lol on both accounts).

A personal preference but I agree whole heartedly. I have a 5s and checked out the 6 and 7 series at the local Apple Store. As bare phones, the were attractive but uncomfortable and slippery to hold. I prefer a bare phone but when I upgrade, if it's not an SE it will have to be in a case.

I too would be happy with a 2-3mm thicker phone if that extra thickness were devoted to battery life. I also prefer the flat sides of the 4-5s phones over the thinner, rounded edges of the subsequent models as they're more comfortable to hold.

If I get a 7s or whatever, I'll consider the Apple battery case, if available, being one of the 7 or 8 people who weren't outraged by it's design.

    Surgeon/s would argue otherwise.

Whether a knife needs a handle, and what kind and size it needs, is all in relation the job to be done. More to the point, the handle evolved to the task, and I don't really do stabbing or cutting motions with my iPhone. A few days of carrying my iPhone around, with or without a case, and my muscle memory is good enough so that I don't worry about dropping it.

So you agree all phones should be made heavier and flat to suit your personal preference like him, or simply that you prefer a better grip. Those are not the same points.

One can be remedied with a case, a thicker phone can't be made thinner.

No stabbing or cutting required. Just holding. Position is key and you will find that the thinner the phone, the more uncomfortable it feels in your hand. That's because you will feel the need to 'wrap' your hand around the phone to get a more confident grip but in doing so you create a less natural hold. The thicker the phone the less the problem is. Obviously going in the opposite direction and ultra thick would also cause problems. A few mm can make a big difference whether it be the phone itself or a case.

Pressure and phone size relative to hand span also come into play. As an aside I can tell you that more and more people are reporting problems of pain in the centre of the palm of one hand. It has been traced to people holding their phones for long periods and wedging the corner of the phone in the middle of their palms.

However, as I said, more factors come into play, although bullshit isn't one of them.
