No one cares about artificial criticisms like it using a familiar design. That's as silly to normal people as me complaining that the new Pioneer receivers look just like my 6-year-old receiver. I never mentioned SEO. I simply said what name most people have given an unannounced phone. Your comments about "journalistic integrity" very clearly threw my reputation into the mix.

All reports should be ignored. It's all clicks. Well, all these folks get paid to write. They've all taken creative writing courses. All they need to do take a position, cherry pick opinions from others, pull some crap from the past, cherry pick that, run some crap through a spreadsheet.
Every article goes back and forth on TouchID. TouchID is going in the display. Just look at the purchase process in the App Store, the location and animation of the thumbprint graphic says it all. It wouldn’t still be in the beta if it wasn’t a done deal.

Interesting. I can't see anyone buying the iPhone 7 at that price - so close to the 7s. Although some times companies will do that to sell the higher priced item.
If sog is right then apple are hoping to maintain their asp with a higher end phone while driving the yearly releases down towards the mid market. Except for the pricing on the 7 (last year's model) that makes a lot of sense.

So what. That's what people search for. The apple TV was commonly called the iTV in the media ( and internally in Apple I think) prior to launch - but that name was taken by the British TV company so it wasnt used. It was what people searched for.
And for all we know the iPhone 7s won't be the iPhone 7s either. It would be odd in fact to keep the numbers and a pro model or brand. They don't do that in the iPad or Mac book line.

Only pattern I see with those prices is - Apple slowly moving to upper mid-range price range for the regular iphones (plus and non-plus models) with a separate high-end tier to increase ASP. Instead of just launching only premium phones, Apple would be releasing new upper mid-range priced phones along with "Premium" phones. Sounds like a great strategy, to me.
