Ehh.. oops. Sorry Spiv. I've rarely been in C&CF, so didn't recognize your handle. I thought you were one of the MacAch mods under a new name here.
BTW - about the 'Ars Attitude', i've noticed it too, but it's partly because a lot of people at Ars _do_ know a lot, and those that don't like to pretend to be like the elite. If i have a technical question, it's usually answered a lot faster and a lot better at Ars than anywhere else I know of (A/V club being an exception.. maybe it's too general a forum, but lots of strange BS going on there...). AI is great to shoot the shit about anything and everything Apple related, but for down and dirty tech stuff, the MacAch is (currently) king. The ratio of wide eyed newbie to gimlet eyed veteran is much lower there than here, which sometimes is important.
ARS has some good articles, but i have always steered clear of the forums. i posted there years ago, but found it to be a bit too full of itself.

That assessment is about right. Over there they can't stop commenting about the lameness of the MacNN and AppleInsider messageboards.

Best. Analogy. Ever.
