Ugh. I don't know how much longer I can wait for an update to Apple's iPhone Mini (ie, the SE).
There's no reason they couldn't shove a 4.5" screen (or even larger) into a handset around the size of the SE.
    Please, Apple. I beg thee.

i’m really, really, really much more interested in the apple watch and airpods versus the iphone. apple might impress with the new batch of phones but i’ll be sticking with my 7 for a year more. however, i will be more than willing to upgrade and change watches — even if they release it every half year!

I'm in the same boat. I'm much more open to replacing my Series 3 Watch with a Series 4, but will probably be fine with keeping my iPhone 7 Plus for an unprecedented 3rd year.

I hope that we see watchOS 5 apps that are independent, like SiriusXM, and I hope that the Series 4 Watch will connect to BT in my car as easily as my iPhone. If I had both of those I'd pretty much be able to  move to not carrying my iPhone on my person most of the time.

Apple Watch: Clearly, the "leaked" image is disinformation. "Gather round" is signalling that the new A-Watch Series 4 will have a round face! And the gold in the announcement image means that it will be available in gold again (or a gold colour). This will be an incentive to upgrade, because it will visually differentiate from the older models. Unlike Series 1 versus Series 3, which are almost identical.

Mac Mini: Will  be "Modular" meaning that it will be rackable or stackable in some way. Like a couple of MacMinis with a SuperDrive, a multi-Terabyte drive or two and an Airport Extreme one on top of the other, but with the same form factor and a clever way of connecting them. Notwithstanding the Xserve, a rack would be very non-Apple, so I expect something much more elegant than that. Better too than the RackMac MacMini product.
While I like your vision for the new Mini, I'm not so optimistic.  It will take a lot to convince me that Apple is still passionate about the Mac.

As for the Watch, I totally agree with you.  A round Watch is the first thing I thought when I saw the invitation and the (supposedly) new face with all the complications that will fit perfectly on a round screen.  I hope Apple releases a round Watch with better styling, a piece of tech that IS fine jewelry, not just one that plays at it.

Most interested in iPhones price. That can help me determine if so called upgrade super cycle will occur or not. So, buy, sell or hold AAPL stock. My guess is Apple's 6.1-inch "low cost" iPhone will be priced at $700(64GB), making it more affordable than the two OLED models. The 5.8-inch iPhone Xs could be priced at $900(64GB), making it cheaper than the $999 iPhone X, while the 6.5-inch iPhone Xs Max could be priced at $1100(64GB).

    1) A 6.1" iPhone will be their low-cost option, not something smaller?

    2) The replacement for the 5.8" iPhone could drop by $100, but there are too many unknowns about component price changes and some knowns, like how recent tariffs will affect Apple devices coming into the US. We may see the divide between Apple devices in the US and other countries shrink up a bit after their converted to the same currencies.

I don't know what the future of computing is, but I think it's closer to the iPad/iPhone than the Mac.

I 'dither' between being very minimalist...currently just a 2017 rose gold MacBook, and a rose gold SE. (Also, a Series 0 watch, an AppleTV (non 4K), an iPad Mini 2 and a pair of AirPods.)

And/or...going all in with a new iMac, iPadPro and the largest iPhone X. Essentially running both MacOS and iOS as my mood sees fit.

Or I could get rid of all my MacOS devices and just have an iPhone X and an iPadPro and go all in with iOS?

What to do? I love my MacBook. It's one of the most masterful pieces of engineering and design I've ever seen, never mind owned! :) I could sell it for half of what I paid and buy a new iPadPro?

we're assuming that Gather Round invitation graphic is an image of Apple Park: it could be the top of a HomePod too.

Um, isn't it super obvious that the ring in the invite is the copper loop for induction charging?  I mean, sure, it's also evocative of the building, and the theater, and the HomePod, and the iPod wheel, and the lazy susan Steve used to use for product reveals on stage...but come on, it's the inductive charging loop.

To me it doesn't seem like it's suppose to represent every Apple product with something round on it. The inside and and outside of the rings, plus the circlular lines within the ring look like they line up with the dimensions of Apple Park's main campus. How is that also the Steve Jobs Theater and HomePod?

Really?  I thought I was pretty clear, you _could_ say it's evocative of all sorts of round Apple stuff, but I don't think that's it...

Inductive charging aren't rings, but rather coils and they don't have to be round. You can technically call it a loop because if you uncoil it it's still sending current through one end and receiving on the other, but it would look nothing like the image presented. Again, the image seems to have the same dimensions and features of the Apple Park's main campus building.

Hey AI, you missed the obvious: "Gather round" is signalling that the new A-Watch Series 4 will have a round face! This will be an incentive to upgrade, because it will visually differentiate from the older models. Unlike Series 1 versus Series 3, which are almost identical. MacMini upgrade is also likely, but the interesting thing will be how they make it "Modular" for server farm use. This means that it will be rackable or stackable in some way. Notwithstanding the Xserve, a rack would be very non-Apple, so I expect something much more elegant than that. Better too than the RackMac MacMini product. Perhaps "Modular" could flow thorough to other products: Like a couple of MacMinis with a SuperDrive, a multi-Terabyte drive or two and an Airport Extreme one on top of the other, but with the same form factor and a clever way of connecting them.

If tariff increases the cost of iPhones than Samsung,LG,Sony who manufacturers their phones outside of China will have upper hand in pricing. What about some components used inside non-apple(Samsung,LG,etc) phones are manufactured in China but the final assembly was outside of China, will they have similar tariff ?
As such higher end phones are falling into less affordable category. Now tariff will make it more difficult. That may be reason Samsung now focusing on mid-tier price phones with some of new higher end spec for market like India to capture the ground lost to Chinese phone manufacturers.

At present, there is nothing in the rumor mill or the watchOS betas suggesting that the Apple Watch will be round. We'll see, of course.

You’re saying the price of the new iphone and the possibility of a super cycle are the factors you think about when investing in AAPL? How odd.

It’s literally the logo of the new HQ, and is sold on teeshirts in their gift shop.

Besides a round watch very likely not happening, I doubt they’d rebrand their iphone (biggest seller) event for the Watch.

    "Specifically, the report is that the 10.5 inch iPad Pro will be reduced from 250.6 x 174.1 x 6.1 millimeters to 247.5 x 178.7 x 6. Similarly, the 12.9 inch is said tochange from 305.7 x 220.6 x 6.9 millimeters to 280 x 215 x 6.4."

If they can keep this up, eventually, they'll get it to the best iPad ever -- the iPad Mini!

Come on Apple!   You can do it!   Shrink that monster!

Well, ok, that was snark.   But it also points out that Apple is aware that form factor size matters.)
The display size matters. I see no evidence that Apple is shrinking that.

A phone company announces its annual event for its latest phones. It also announces it will no longer make computers as they are a sideline business, and takes up too much time, few sales, and have lost interest in making the best computers. Making phones is easier and more profitable. The software division that made iWork, Final Cut, Aperature, Mac Server etc will also be disbanded, as they haven't done anything in years anyway. No one will miss them. No professional laptops (15" are just toys), no pro desktop Mac worth buying since 2013, no 17" laptop since 2012, no new Mac Mini, since ...I forgot it was so long ago. Old computers with old processors, old graphics cards, no user upgradable RAM, tiny RAM limit of 32Gb, same old high prices. Apple should give 5 year warranties. After 25 years as a Mac user, I am considering those PeeCees sadly. Cheaper, faster, 17" laptops, powerful desktop models.
It will probably take Apple spinning off the Mac division into a new company to get the most out of the platform. That way Apple can sell it off so Cook can invest more resources into the phone and jewelry business.
