I was a hockey goalie for quite a while. When someone scores a nice goal on you, you've been 'beaten like a rented mule.'
Happened pretty often in the early going.
They tried to tag me with 'red-headed stepchild' but fortunatly hockey allows a certain amount of physical contact, and while it took me a while to hone my goalie skills, it didn't take half as long to learn how to clobber someone.
in a previous life time I was known as V-Twin (or some variation of it)... cause of what I did to my friends older brother's brand new ducati when I was in high school...
nowa days - I'm an graduate EE major in Los Angeles, to be finished in May with my MS - at which point I will go work for the GREAT satan, and continue my work towards a PhD... but thats not why I choose "grad student" - I choose it cause it rhymes with apple.

you dont need to go to school to work for microsoft, Ms prefers you flunk all exams.
Back in '94 I was a freshman at clarkson university and a friend introduced me (and most of our hall) to mudding. I had to pick a name for my character and being the uncreative person that I am picked the Title of my new They Might Be Giants album "John Henry". I've used it ever since...in a side note
Did anyone else ever "mud"...all I remember is typing kick about 2 and a half million times....anyway I credit mudding to my relatively quick typing ability...
Mac o' the Isles is - o' course a hereditary title passed doon frae generation tae generation, signifying ownership o' the Western Isles and coastlands; a' the minerals underneath and a' the grouse, deer, peat and whisky above; and conferring unique and privileged sole richts tae the MacIntosh?. Thus it is that once evey hunnerd years a' would-be usurpers o' the name (computer manufacturers or otherwise) are required under ancient and irrevokable Scotio-Picto law; upon pain o' death; tae travel tae the isles and do ootrageous acts o' obeisance and fealty and clean the communal cludgies.
