Okay dokey I'd like to say checking in has been fun, but it has been the usual sack of spanners.
I've got some real life stuff to do with some people who know some actual useful things.
Some things we have learnt:
DBK does not understand argument from motive is or how to apply it.
DBK does not like references to Stockholm syndrome.
Argumentum ad nauseam is a good candidate for the dybbuk family motto.
Trying to argue with DBK is like shouting at a washing machine full of eels that demands you "add the ginger beer this instant young man" horrifying, perplexing and oddly quaint.
DBK does not understand that his "contribution" is as welcome as cat crap shaped ice cubes in your drink, made of cat crap.
Some things we have learnt about the textblade
Naff all
That's time well spent all round isn't it?
Go ahead and blah blah your yadda yaddas because it doesn't matter. Unless you are an employee of WT what is the point of you? You can sit there and type your tuppence ha'penny worth of self congratulatory nonsense, as an excuse to inflict your wafer thin personality on the rest of the world. But don't think for one moment that your lack of skill with language, poor diction, obvious issues with academics, and argumentation with logical flaws so gaping you could match a band through them, doesn't simply and obviously drip from your every word.
In this carnival of cock-ups WT are calling a product development, you are a side show. A cautionary tale of what happens when someone's self worth exceeds their actual worth.
So ta ta for a couple of days, conferences to attend, awards to accept. That sort of humdrum real world stuff that carrying a textblade might be helpful for.
Arkorott, Wsmurf, Alex keep the thread warm in case WT actually fancy answering a customer. I'll be back to add the ginger beer before you know it.
TBD try not to actually Eat DBK before a get back. Or at the very least film it if you do.
my post stands: you keep using that word, but I don’t think it means what you think it means...
With apologies to Arkorott (because I'd rather talk about the TB too), it is appropriate that I point out yet another example of certain critics literally making things up.
In this case, weirdosmurf again claims I "keep using that word". But I'm quite confident I don't. I know the kind of phrasings I use and that word rarely is included. Nothing wrong with the word, but I just choose other words most of the time. Perhaps weirdosmurf will document a bunch of times I've used that word, just on this forum to make it easier. Doesn't count, btw, if it is in a quote I include by someone else. So far, at this point, we have ONE example where I only used it in direct response to Rolanbek using the word about me. I've made 336 posts before this one. Plenty of opportunity to show I keep using it - IF I actually did.
This isn't a one-time matter (people making stuff up about me). Very recently we had ericpeets claiming I not only didn't do any machine code programming, but not even any BASIC programming. Worse, he declared I didn't understand the assembly instruction "ADC" - saying it didn't add anything and there was no "result". But his own link showed he was wrong on both counts (he just didn't quote that part from the linked page).

You said I "keep using that word". I told you that, while I have used it, it isn't a word I commonly use - and the last time was in direct response to Rolanbek bringing it up. Since you made this an issue, I challenged you to back it up. I even allowed for you to include any variation of the word (plural, past tense, etc).
So what do you do? You pretend you never made it an issue and switch to me understanding the Princess Bride reference! I wonder why? Just maybe you started looking for times I used that word and couldn't find enough to justify making it an issue? Or maybe you didn't look at all but dropped it because you knew you just made up the idea that I "keep using that word".
Perhaps you hope people will forget that claim. Which is certainly possible. Most don't pay close attention. Fortunately, I don't mind reminding them
BTW, I'm very familiar with the reference from the Princess Bride so even that is a meaningless issue. But let's stick with the one you literally made up. Since you don't want to actually check, let's start with some generic questions about what counts as "keep using" being enough to explain even making it an issue. Taking this thread, with me posting 338 times including this one, how many times would I need to use that word for it to justify you making it an issue about "keep using" the word (including all forms of the word)? 100? 50?, 25? 12?
Unless you are an employee of WT what is the point of you?
To be clear, I believe you meant: 'Unless you are the employee (aka Mark Knighton) of Waytools,,, etc'
Picture Mark Knighton at home, resting on his big pile 'o cash, fraudulently obtained from 10,000+ customers who paid him 4+ years ago for a Textblade. He whittles some keycaps and ruminates over one of his prototypes. His pugnacious mind wanders. He surfs the web until he finds some of his fraud victims to bicker and argue with. Now and then, he scribbles a new line of code for the big firmware update on to a drink napkin (using a mixture of BASIC and 'machine language' of course).
You all need to accept that this is the reality.
No matter what the stockholm syndrome sufferin' volunteerin' shill employee of Waytools (Kahuna) thinks or says, there will be no Textblade 'general release'. Not in 2019. Not in 2020. Not ever.
There are 131 treggers. There are 131 prototypes that need more memory and new paint and new batteries and new keycaps and new firmware and new bluetooth chipsets and better shielding and better rubber feet, and fewer patent issues.
You should volunteer to put together the Wait-Tools_Support update. You would make it a ton of fun to read.
We are bound to find some errors in the limpware to firmware process, and it is bugs we hope to cut, not features or anything else.
As long as you do not cut anything else and it does not interrupt the firmware process I guess a lot will sign up for sure.
As part of our accelerated feature development team, we decided to spend 20% of our time on other projects.
One of the devs thought it would be great if the Sext Blade could have other features. Our competitor blathers on about making a mouse, but we aim higher than that - much higher.
Using the parallel interpolative forces of geometrical suborbital magnetic fields, used when the blades stick together, we realised this could be used to open a wormhole in the space time continuum, and that a surprising by product was the ability to teleport.
We were doing some experiments and crazily - it worked! But a fly got into the vortex, and when our Sext Blade used on of the 12 Jumps features, where the Blade can physically jump between and in front of different devices on your desk table, it suddenly had wings, beady eyes, fine hairs on each key and stuff.
For a moment we thought we had teleported the CEO of a different company into our labs by accident, but the reality was quite different!
What we had developed was the Insext Blade!
Now our Blade can teleport jump between keyboards, record each keystroke, and when interplanetary magnetism is fluctuating, it can simply fly between devices on command as needed.
The hairs provide a soothing massage effect to you fingers as well, but the little battery droppings it leaves as it now works as a semi-organic life form is something we haven't figured out what to do with.
We are strongly considering Rolanbek's suggestion that we freeze then for use to cool down those Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster drinks from HHGTTG...
If you have any ideas on how we can further develop Sext Blade before launch, let me know. In the meantime I am constantly looking in the mirror and noticing just how much I look like Elon Musk and Tim Cook's love child - the resemblances are uncanny!

There are 131 treggers.
1. Then you should be willing to announce that, if they do ship, you will then cancel your order.
2. That's 131 that we know about from the WT forums (could be more). It does not count treggers who are not forum members.

I think you’re overthinking it champ... sometimes a funny is just a funny...
Humour loses much of it’s value when it is deconstructed (which is why, when you’ve tried to interpret something in a technical, semantic way, it completely lost it’s humorous context... although oddly enough it magnifies it’s humorous value to those of us who saw the initial context, understood it and found your complete misstep around it to be even funnier than the original [not particularly hilarious] line.)
(Sometimes when you are so determined to fight and fight and fight some more... you end up stepping in doggie poo... however, if you are capable of saying “har, har... see what you did there...” it neatly avoids the poo...)

*The issue was one of perhaps misunderstanding a concept... the fact that you misunderstood the idea of misunderstanding is just too meta not to fall off the couch laughing... sorry, but I have to be honest and I thank you for the belly-laugh...! I’m labouring this point just so it can’t possibly be misunderstood...
> I think you’re overthinking it champ... sometimes a funny is just a funny
Or just lying, which isn't funny at all.
> Humour loses much of it’s value when it is deconstructed
Especially when it turns out it was made up. Certainly you have failed to show I "keep using" the word. YOU made that an issue, not me. I merely responded to a post where someone else used it.
All you are doing now is talking gobledty-goop to cover up the fact you made a false statement about something that never should have even been an issue by you in the first place.

You are very multi-touchy, DBK. I might have to make an exemption re Hawaii as you sound like you might be able to make a surprising contribution to Sext Blade. Plus you have kahunas... :-) :-)

Just pointing out how someone makes me the issue, makes s false assertion to do so, doubles down on it rather than admit the can’t back it up, changes the issue to avoid doing so, and finally tries to pretend it’s all a big joke. It’s okay since it just gives me more things to point out about their ethics.
But it it is also interesting that not only are they less interested in talking about the TB then they are in making these attack, they are literally just a few days from the end of the month which is the time frame for the announced update - which so many have saiid is unlikely to happen. And they may well be right. This past year certainly hasn’t been very good for producing updates when WT projects. So why not, if they don’t have anything useful to say, just wait and, if it doesn’t happen, they get to say , “I told you so”, etc?

Instead they make up false claims. Very strange.
Just pointing out that you often seem to make yourself the issue and/or insert yourself into a conversation.
People would then say you make false assertions to do so coupled with weird analogies, and then called out on it, that you double down on it rather than admit you can’t back it up, that you change the issue to avoid doing so, and finally you get angry or try to pretend it’s all a big joke.

Ok ok just joking(?), please don't go Incredible Sulk on us
Also are you saying you don't want your kahunas involved in the great Sext Blade tregsperiment?

You my friend, have just struck upon psychological bingo...
To not see it as clearly as you have stated would be... “inconceivable”...
> Just pointing out that you often seem to make yourself the issue and/or insert yourself into a conversation.
That's funny, because before posting my prior message, I had included the point that the next step would be to blame me for what the critics started! But I decided to delete that part. My mistake. So I'll just remind you that it was smurf who made me an issue over a word that didn't matter, and had to fib about it at that - claiming I "kept using" it. Perhaps you have noticed he has not produced any other examples of it, let alone enough to remotely justify making his statement. Or you might notice that it was others who made an issue about my programming.
> People would then say you make false assertions
People can say many things - but you might note again that only I can point out little details such as the fact that smurf can't provide examples for what he said about me "keep using" a specific word. If he checked, and found a bunch of examples, he would have provided them. He knows he made it up so he either doesn't even check or knowns the odds of finding many examples is so unlikely, it isn't worth the time to even check.
You my friend, have just struck upon psychological bingo...
More like psycho bingo since it was you who made my use of a specific word an issue - falsely at that (feel free to provide a bunch of examples if you insist you are correct. I don't think you can do it). Likewise ericpeets making my programming an issue - but, oops, he got caught with his own link showing he was was wrong about certain assembly instructions. So after you and others make me the issue, you then eventually switch to saying I was making myself the issue. That is not an ethical argument for you to make.
You are all free to make stuff up. You are free to make me the issue. But here's the thing: I get to respond. Meanwhile, tell us how many times I needed to use the word in this forum to "justify" you making it an issue out of 342 posts.

I just like to take people's statements, turn them around 180 degrees and see if they still make sense and still apply.
It's funny how often what can be accused of the goose can be equally applied to the gander.
Not saying you're a goose!
Also, you may get to respond, it's a free world, but sometimes some commenters here prove the truism that it is better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and confirm it beyond all about.
Not saying it's you! Could be anyone, even me!
Responses beget more responses though, I guess we all want to keep responding, but some here are "first responders" putting out fires for HQ... :-)
So, are your responsive kahunas ready to take the Sext Blade test? We need volunteers for a ballsy, cutting edge new way to type.

Maybe that's why smurf isn't trying to provide the many examples he needs to support his claim that I "keep using" a certain word.
Nah, just kidding. If he found some, he would have provided them. So they must not exist. I don't have to check because I know it isn't a word I use much. Of course, he could just admit it, but it seems he can't make himself do that either.
Or maybe it's why Eric stopped pushing the issue about my programming after his own link contradicted him.
All things I didn't make an issue and all things that distract from talking about the TextBlade.

Umm... everyone gets to respond... that’s what a public Internet forum is... this isn’t a court of law, and if it were, you might find a judge shutting down some of your nonsense just as I might find mine curtailed - I cant imagine any sane judge allowing my requirement for the death penalty to apply to boy-bands to stand...
To engage and “bicker” as you have suggested? Not on your life.
To poke a bit of fun using pop culture references or trash boy bands ad nauseum? You betcha...! I am a sucker for the little things in life...
Am I willing to chase down a red herring for the purpose of winning the internet? I am not. If that qualifies in your mind for an ethical violation of some sort, then you definitely won the internet...
Is being the centre of the issue important to you? If so, by all means continue arguing about why you are/aren’t the centre of the issue... if however, you don’t wish to be the centre of the issue and you wish to discuss the TextBlade, Waytools and or all things therein, then again, by all means do so. If you don’t enjoy “absolute crap” then by all means, you are entirely free to elevate yourself above what you consider “crap”. You are equally free to roll around in the playground mud scrapping, punching and wrestling for meaningless points (with which you eventually get to “buy the internet...) The choice is entirely yours and your choice demonstrates everything about you (just as my choices reveal anything and everything about me - everyone’s do...)
Am I concerned that you might say “see... I knew you couldn’t do some entirely meaningless task I set you”...? I’ll just have to somehow manage to find a way go on living with myself (I do not answer to you and I don’t work for you. I am not a student of yours, nor am I a band member who you can bark instructions at to be blindly followed - I’d ask you to refrain from barking please...)
What I am in this particular context is a customer of Waytools who is frustrated and feels poorly served by the company. The company does not appear keen to engage and is extremely poor at customer relations and is extremely (overly) sensitive to criticism. The company have been extremely vague in their use of timeframes - so much so that they insist (with you as a staunch defender) they have never actually missed a deadline since they never actually gave a deadline; merely an estimate... and yet a significant number of customers feel they were deceived. The company dangles a carrot (early adopter gift of “significant value”) out without stating what it is whilst at the same time urging dissatisfied people to use the refund button; that denies people the ability to make an informed decision by keeping them uninformed about a key piece of information. And on the point of refunds, the company states (on this forum) the decision to keep an order or seek a refund sits entirely with the customer and yet that same company has unilaterally enforced refunds to customers who have vented their displeasure. Last and by no means least, the company maintains a forum (complete with a “rants” section) and yet a number of customers who have “ranted” have been shadow banned from the forum, silencing their dissent - any serious dissent. There are more, but I can’t sit here typing on an Internet forum all day (not typed on a TextBlade btw)... I have work to crack on with...
All of this is quite uncool and certainly justifies the voices here complaining. Attacking the messengers and changing the frame of reference in order to validate attacking the messengers doesn’t change the validity of those complaints.
Why do do people end up always piling on to you dbk on every forum you enter...? That’s one of those existential questions you’ll need to engage a good therapist to get to the bottom of, I highly recommend it (mine tells me One Direction is better than Take That... I mean seriously... is she insane? I mean c’mon... Robbie Williams vs Harry Styles... what is she even thinking...!?) There’s no way that you’d take your lead from a suggestion on an Internet forum (and to be fair, why would you...?) so perhaps you can explore the question we all have deep down “why doesn’t everyone in the world see the world the way I see it, like sensible people should...?” with a professional who might get you some decent, unbiased perspective. If pursuing that’s important to you (and it appears from your posts it is an important issue for you, hence the endless debate and shifting sands of framework) then I’d suggest you’ll remain unfulfilled if you keep trying to find those answers on Internet forums...
> Is being the centre of the issue important to you?
Nope, but since you and others tend to try to make it that way, I respond accordingly. Find more examples of me using that word you claimed I kept using yet?
Because unless you do, or admit you made an issue over something that never should have been an issue plus you were wrong about it, I guess it won't be you that I'll discuss other things with.

Some of us are just waiting for a small keyboard.

(You’ll note I credited “the immortal Inigo Montoya”, there’s a clue... and it’s not a difficult reference to find...)
100? 50?, 25? 12?
Thats all there is.
With love

People would then say you make false assertions to do so coupled with weird analogies, and then called out on it, that you double down on it rather than admit you can’t back it up, that you change the issue to avoid doing so, and finally you get angry or try to pretend it’s all a big joke.
It’s okay since it just gives them more things to point out about your ethics...
Ok ok just joking(?), please don't go Incredible Sulk on us
Also are you saying you don't want your kahunas involved in the great Sext Blade tregsperiment?
To not see it as clearly as you have stated would be... “inconceivable”...
