Well, can I ask what type of union you are in?

This  union forming against Apple is not close to professonal

also you like have skills that is harder to replace with an entrenched union so i guess it works like the steel workers union etc

But Apple can replace all these people so easily in / job fair at any local college campus

Open jobs with great benefits at Apple
    store, flexible schedule!

Requirement: Proficient at using IPhones and Macs

I was a member of Unite, which was the union that my employer at the time had a relationship with.  They represented all kinds of office staff in all departments, some highly skilled, others fairly green.  It was fairly early in my career, and though I was pretty good at my job I was far from indispensable.

Apple retail workers need to have good people skills and product knowledge, they aren't infinitely replaceable.  And it's illegal to fire workers for attempting to start a union.  Not that there aren't ways of working around that, but Apple would be under a lot of scrutiny if they tried.

You think Apple’s job requirement begins and ends with being proficient with two types of procedures they sell? You’re more out of touch on this subject than I imagined.

It’s a start and filter from there. Let me put it this way, they are all smart kids but they are easily replaceable simply because this society is filled with young people with similar skills by virtue of this being Apple.

I would not say the same about an Auto plant or a Steel mill

Union or not, employment still at will. Why would Apple need to deal with this when they can hire replacements for this NYC store from any community college or university around New York?

Because replacing an entire workforce is really hard and disruptive to business, loses knowledge and experience, and risks a lawsuit if done in response to unionisation.  As already said.  Did you not read the post you are responding to?
