    Slick.

I think museum mode describes the way the text notes would be displayed, not an actual physical museum.

Developers are users as well, and if they are to webcast it, then there will be an additional 90 000 users attending. In the light of this I really suspect Steve to talk about stuff like iTunes Music Store, how they've upgraded every product since new years, and some NAB recap.. Steve never just talk to the audience present. There's a reason why its 2 hs long.. at least a half an hour of morale boosting sales talk before he get's ino the really fun stuff like Panther, 64-bitness, 970 and whatever..

Actually, that might be why the keynote is 2 hrs. Quark may announce 6.0 at WWDC. The timing would be just about right.

Steve: "...and finally, quark xpress is ready for os X and shipping today. Say hello to **** from quark" *warm applause* Quark official: "...and we're the first company to officially support the new 64 bit 970 and panther officially" - Steve: "f*ck you, you just blew my "and one more thing" thingy " Quark official: "blaah, thats for all the bitching you'be been doing about us being slow and all" *laughs* Then the new PM comes up from the floor and they do a impressiv demo of xpress on it. So, at the end. Steves: "and one more thing" *laughter* "introducing the new iPad today, and if you look under your seat...., we're giving all the atendees one to keep. " *massive applause*

My money is on Jobs not saying a word about the PPC 970--at least, not in public. Maybe a closed-door session with some important developers, but I dont' see him mentioning it in the keynote. Not even a sneakypeak slide of the new towers like he did with the xserve.

I'm a potential customer... there's a ton of pent up demand for QXP for OSX. Unlike popular belief... not everyone has switched to Indesign. Performance is not the only reason PowerMac sales are slow...

Um, the audience at WWDC are developers - not the kind of people that use QXP on a daily basis.

Yes, but this is WWDC. The number of Mac Developers interested in QXP 6 is slim to none, and the number of devs who paid $1400 to hear about how they can publish documents to press and the web simultaneously (yay! woo! or something) is probably zero.

Devs use text editors, the way God intended.

I would not doubt a few unexpected software announcments at WWDC.

I promised I would not tell.

Yes, but all the developers attending will be interested in whether or not Apple's marketshare is ever going to break above 2% again, and QuarkXPress actually shipping might just have something to do with that.

And what? You think there was no development in getting QXP to Mac OS X? Jobs might have them on stage to brag about how quickly they were able to move XPress to Mac oS X.

(That last was a joke, by the way...)

This is about Panther and I believe the 970 will be confirmed/previewed. I believe this is the main reason for the time shift of the conference. WWDC is only 3 weeks before MWNY or whatever it is called.

I think Quark 6 will be released at MWNY, and 970 machnes shipping from MWNY.

no svhit? I've never actually seen Quark in action so I have no idea what is so great about it, but from what I hear anyway is that the transition to InDesign is an easy one, and is just a formidable an application in that area.

Sorry that was totally off topic.

Point. I'm sure many would-be Mac developers would be keenly interested in an object lesson in how not to develop for OS X.
