    Yes, when Species 8472 stepped onto the scene and so much as brushed the Borg aside as if they were nothing was quite impressive (for lack of a better term). However, the show creators did take into account that an enemy is formidable not just out of brute force, but because of specific qualities. 8472 just had a certain quality that completely circumvented the way the Borg operated. It's like real life nature where one species always keeps another in check and so on... So therein was a built-in way to defeat them.



    Who knows, though. They could still come back. That would make for some neat episodes. They had all the makings of a new super-enemy, aside from the vulnerability to modified Borg nano-thingies.

    yes I agree in there being merit in this. Trouble is How you keep species 8472 being pissed off enough to want to break thru time-space..remebering it was the Borg tugging at the chain..messing with new technology that brought about the flame war on in the first place..

    Also, if I remember correctly, species 8472's universe was extremely dullsville..boring visual backgrounds....
