That makes no sense. They don't charge more for their products for the hell of it.
Apple invests alot of time and money in developing the best products they can. And you pay a small premium for that when you buy their products. What's the point of doing all the work and to not make a profit?
Dell has managed to commodify the computer world... they do make their machines CHEAPER... but spend almost no money doing research. Apple's top of the line machine is cheaper than a machine configured the same way. How many dells have optical audio and video in/out ports?
These are pro machines... if you want consumer priced hardware buy an emac/imac/ibook... if you need to have top end performance and you want to run OS X... you have really great hardware now.
