I just saw the end on CNBC, CRAP! i flipped the channel to CNBC and only saw the last 5 seconds when the mom was looking at all the holes in the house and then they were zooming in on the powermac and then the guy saying introuducing the fastest most powerful personal computer then the apple logo and www.apple.com/g5

I WANT TO SEE THE WHOLE THING

oh by the way it was a regular 20 or 23 inch display

Another ad that Mac users love. But what about PC users. Even if it's funny, so what? (The iMac sticking it's tongue out was funny, in a childish way). Apple needs to show what the G5 can do FOR you not what it can do TO you (i.e. blow you out of your house? - Geez!). It was produced by Chiat-Day. They are Apple's only ad agency at the moment.

Funny? It was racist. Showing the stereotypical afro-american male on drugs.

Apple doesn't do comparison ads. Or Offer driven ads.

They're more in the check us out category.

I think an ad touting the G5 as powerful is a good way to go. It even LOOKS powerful.

Gateway just runs ads that either say... LOOK HOW CHEAP a gateway is or... WE'RE GATEWAY we make things other than PC's... blah blah blah. They're all over the place.

Dell just has annoying "interns" that babble on about reliabilty and LOOK HOW CHEAP WE ARE... ignore the fine print.

I do think that Apple needs to run more ads and run them frequently. The mini-me/yao ming ads were running alot. Don't know if I've ever seen an iBook ad in the past year. And I guess the iPods are selling themselves pretty much. Haven't seen an iMac ad in ages... hopefully the G5 ad will run ALOT.

I did not perceive that the man in question was on drugs at all. And ther were no rumblings from the press or African-American political leaders that this was the case. That's a stretch in my opinion.

I think (hope) he was kidding.

The ad is cool. Seen it several times on Comedy Central.

macbyte.com has a link to the last 10 seconds of the ad...

looks like apple will be going with a Aluminum on Black type treatment in their ads versus the dark grey on white that they were using.

Please, please...let him be kidding. I beg of you, let this be a funny, "haha" statement.

I think you possibly might be the only person on the planet who sees that ad in that way.

I think it's just a silly commercial with a guy and a computer making faces at each other.

That iMac ad was definitely racist. And homophobic too. I mean, come on, straight guys go window shopping too.

Hmmm, I like the new ad...except, the voice at the end isn't powerful, it's nerdy.

It's sounds like a little nerdy guy touting numbers, they need to get a deep powerful "buy me" voice.

I was going to suggest Barry White, but then I remembered...

Yeah, Goldblum just doesn't quite have that aura of "ooooooh...power!", does he? More like "ooooooh...I dropped my pencil and I can't find my other shoe...".

Anyway, it's time for a chick. Again - after two years - I STILL vote for Ms. Gillian Anderson's cool, sexy purr of a voice.

Close your eyes and imagine (no not that) and accept that as a good idea. Because it is.

    at first i considered:

    Lee Ermey (Full Metal Jacket)

    James Coburn (numerous westerns)

    Barry White (numerous bedrooms)

    sadly, all are now dead.

james earl jones? (darth good, cnn saturation bad)

michael ironside? (for that teeth gritting sales pitch)

laurence fishburne? (might be looking for work since reloaded bit)

    how about Sir Ian McKellan?

Gandalf's voice will grab a lot of TV ears from now till the Tolkien trilogy ends.
