Sh*t. Ok thanks for letting me know. Anyone have a confirmed Panther release date?
Looking good on the theme there. Do you want Safari to have the grey stiped Panther look, or the metal one? You can either use APE manager to remove the brushed metal, or project builder.
actually... my printing (on a epson C82) doesnt work. \
in 7B80 still,
maybe soon.

What was that printing feature Apple put in Jag, but you could only enable through the terminal ... somehting about accessing your printer with your browser?
If it's 7B86 that would mean my ingenius guess some weeks back of 7B94 (I think) would be off by 8 builds. Unacceptable! I am no longer worthy of "CONFIRMED" status.
All my posts are hereby UNCONFIRMED until such time as it is proven the GM build is 7B94. Or was it 7B84? Trying times, these... I need some tea.
As for a release date, Amazon claims the Adobe Studio will ship on Oct 24. So perhaps they will ship on the same day? Who knows...
7b85 is GM. We'll see a few more builds leak out after this right away. 7b85 is going to presses as we speak. Confirmed by two Apple employees that I've known for a long time.
Has any one run/tested Dreamwever in Panther and if so, does it run any faster, (i.e. acceptable).
I've heard bad things about text and other parts of Dreamwever dogging in Jag. Some people have said this was do to Macromedia some have said it has more to do with Jag's text rendering. I don't know one way or the other.
I currently work in Dreamwever in XP here at work and am looking forward to switchen these box's over to G5's and Panther.
I don't have any current experience running Dreamwever in OS X.
So could we see a 10.3 release either this week or next? I've been hearing that it's getting close to completion. Also that screenshot from wired.com, this one:
shows the Panther pre-release running on a 400 MHz G3 with 192 MB of RAM. Does anyone have a 400 MHz G3 with that much memory or more with a preview build of Panther installed and running? I ask because I have a classmate who has a 14" Pismo Powerbook clocking in at 400 MHz with 640 MB of RAM and he's hesitant to switch from 10.1.5 to 10.3. Can anyone help me (and him) with that?
You mean help him get his head out of his posterior orafice? Sure. Tell him he's INSANE. Panther was written specifically for people like him and he has the nerve to shout FEAR??
I am flabergasted. Are you sure he is not mentally handicapped?

SWEET! So I bet within a few weeks Panther'll be ours!
Dog Almighty: lol I wish I could just be satisfied with the Panther theme. I want the whole thing. It's gonna speed me up soOoOo much.
Just a quick question: Can you tell the difference between a Carbon and a Cocoa app in Panther? (Sorry if this has already been asked). m.
The answer is, for better or for worse, a resounding Yes, both technically and performance-wise. I am not sure if this is that at which you were trying to get, but the window-dragging 'bug' has not been fixed: the title bars of Carbon windows (iTunes, Finder, et cetera) cannot be dragged beneath the dock. Whether this is a result of being compiled with CodeWarrior, or also applies to Xcode-Carbon files, I cannot say with certainty.
As for performance, I am running 7B80 on a fairly maxed-out G5. iPhoto (Carbon, and in my opinion shoddy at present) is a bit slow, although iCal (which is Cocoa) may also a tad substandard.
I suspect that, as Apple moves away from resource forks, Carbon, and into more Objective-C/Cocoa goodness, we shall see speed improvements across the board: more focus on a uniform programming language; less need for outdated system components; and various 'new' NeXTStep goodies that had heretofore not seen light in years.
The 'bug' is that, as I alluded, whilst a Cocoa window's title bar can be dragged beneath the Dock, a Carbon window's cannot. I've no idea as to why it hasn't been fixed yet.

As you can see above I've applied the Panther theme to my 10.2.8. Does anyone know where I can find the corresponding Safari theme?

You don't even need Panther!
