Might as well just listen to your iTunes library, eh?

Unless you've got songs on your iPod that aren't on your computer. I did this for a while because I was low on HD space so I'd encode them, move them to my 'pod and listen to them off of there. It worked well until I got a new computer with more room.

Mandricard: I assume you haven't bought a new iPod yet. If that is the case, I am crossing my fingers for a silent iPod feature bump cum price cut tomorrow morning. And who knows, maybe I'll join you in the iPod Owners Club this time around.

For the last few product updates, the Apple store website has gone down around 8am EST. I don't think there are any iPod updates happening today.

Macwhisper's reputation as a rumor site will be permanantly scarred if the iPod is not released today, because they have made a stupid-as-hell prediction that they are completely confident of.

Macwhispers should not of been so senselessly confident about the iPod. Of course, they could be right about the iPods being built and stockpiled today, but that doesn't count, now does it?

    Oh rats.

    Yet again.

    Bah.

p.s. The basic facts remain: CompUsa states 4-6 weeks as a shipping date: i.e. NO ONE has any in the retail channel. THIS IS SO STRANGE!

Oh well. More hoping and waiting and hoping and waiting and hoping and waiting...

At this rate, we'll get the <a href="http://forums.appleinsider.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003101"; target="_blank">Purely hypothetical iPhone before a new iPod.

Well it was certainly a bold move, sticking their necks out so far.

Anybody think Apple would be so pissed at this statement that they delayed it until tomorrow?

Macwhispers has dropped its "product releases predicted by OEM suppliers" method.

Methinks this is no simple hard drive size replacement.

Seems to me that if Apple is waiting until every single unit is cleared from the channel, the upcoming product must be a significant upgrade indeed.

That would be fine by me since I've got a mostly working iPod that is waiting for MY local compusa to run out so they have to give me a new one.

I hope it's totally new, cause I want to buy one and if it's going to be that new, then I can wait a little bit.

This is insane. The retail channel is practically DRY of iPods. WHAT IS APPLE THINKING?

I am so frustrated, I could just....um.... tilt at windmills.

You should have bought one last month and been done with it. An ulcer is a bug price to pay.

I bought my 20Gigger for £268 instead of £400, through various discounts. I know that if a new one os brought out, I can easily make my money back on E-Bay. At least then I'll have had immiediate use of it which is what I wanted.

I guess I was just lucky things worked out the way they did.

Mandricad, keep your chin up, grin and bear it.

£268 for a 20Gb, including VAT? Where? How? I'd get one how and help slim down the channels!
