College Background of AO/AI Posters
I'm curious, with all of the discussion about college education, the benefits or lack there of, and future life experience, what is the educational background of individuals on here? This has probably been done already, but is ready for an update.
If you are doing something with your degree, it would be interesting to know about that as well.

where do you go to college? for what?
Unfortunately, I am attending a community college now, (*GASP* the HORROR *Girl screams like in old black&white movies*) but I plan to transfer to Cogswell, a private college that focuses on 3D animation, sound design, and script/story boarding.
Ever seen "Event Horizon"? The ship was designed by one of their students. Along with countless other movies.
-King's College (#27 Northern Universities: Masters- Top Schools) It's a fairly good Roman-Catholic, undergraduate private school. It's at least on par with the University of Scranton (#4) in terms of undergraduate programs.
-English Writing Major (No minor; honors program instead)
-Law School Aspirations.

Just got my Masters in June, and still unemployed \
I refrained from posting in the other thread about educational value, because frankly right now I'm just frustrated and don't know. My specialization in grad school was biotech, and jobs in this field are tight right now. I have about 200 resumes out there and I've had 2 interviews to date. The tough thing is not having a lot of experience. I went straight into grad school from undergrad, and altho I have lab experience, I don't have much industrial experience (sigh).
And TigerWoods: no, there is nothing wrong with community college. I saw your post in the other thread, and while I agree that college is not necessary for EVERY job, for a lot of them it is. In music production (shrug) I have no idea, but I sense that a lot of success in the entertainment biz is helped by your contacts and connections. But I will say this...I have a friend who used to own a recording studio in Boston in the mid-80's (hip-hop and rock), and he got so tired of the b.s. in the music biz that he sold it and works in finance now.
No one here is denigrating your career choice. I wish you all the success in the world.

If you want to see a new perspective on politics, attend a local City Council/Board of Aldermen meeting sometime. \
I'll give you one guess what I'm doing with it.
Worked for the Ministry Of Defence for a while, now I'm at one of the oil majors.

I'm not doing anything directly related to my degree FWIW.
Biggest waste of time ever! College and I just did not mix. If I had to do it all over again I would have gone to a specialty school for film or classics.
My current job has nothing to do with what I studied, but hey the job market is just a little bit thin right now. I am writing the content for eLearning simulations to be deployed worldwide. The nuances of Congressional politics are about as useful to my current job as being able to conjugate verbs in Latin.
thu Freak, besides the part where they kicked you out, how did you like RIT? Besides the school's reputation and the parties I've been to there, I haven't seen any other reason I'd wanna go. I wanna stay kinda close to home, but I don't really want to be stuck in Rochester any longer.
