What a strange point of view! The war began Aug. 2nd, 1990.

No it didn't, see my post above.

    on topic-

So no word yet seems quite similar to days leading up to MWSF, and last year it was last week of Jan IIRC that Apple released the dual gigs.

Yep, ordered my DP gigger on Jan 28, 2002. Still a good machine, but ready for any new machine. Can't wait any longer.

I don't want to see any new hardware or software on the 27th or the next few months.

Gdddmmmit!! I want to see news items describing apple inking deals with large corporations worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

This may be only be a follow-up to the MacWorld, or it could also include any other updates, but the message seen below was sent out to everyone on campus at BGSU (Bowling Green State University.)

I _hope_ the timing of it means the announcement of updates to iMac and eMac, and lower prices on the previous models.

    3. Apple Technology Update

Apple Computer will be having a technology update Jan. 29 at 2 p.m. in the Language Learning Center for faculty and staff. Hear about the newest products and technologies released at MacWorld on Jan. 7. Please feel free to bring questions you may have but look forward to hearing about Apple's newest laptops,

airport technology, and much more. Hope to see you all there!

Doesn't that explicitly say they are going to talk about what was unveiled at MWSF? What is your degree in?

Perhaps they're re-vamping the bottom unit - at least adding the remote control features to it.

You don't exactly have to "revamp" the 5GB to add the remote. It can use it now -- you'd just have to put the remote in the box.

I would tell you to bunker down and wait till the fall, I am. The G4 that comes out will be a little faster then what we have now, maybe in the same air vent case maybe slightly different. However, the 970 will totlally new tech, new speed, and new case. That's what I'm waiting for, I'll be going to ebay after the summer

Yes, it does state they are going to discuss MWSF. I don't remember stating that it didn't. ; )

I guess I was taking into consideration the phrase "and much more" as well as the timing of this meeting in the posting of this e-mail announcement. Both seem to allow (however optimistically) for the possibility of new announcements that were not made at MWSF.

To answer your query. My degrees are a:

    B.A. in English and Theatre

    M,A. in Theatre

    and a Ph.D. in Theatre.

What are your degrees in Pie Man? Just curious.

20th anniversary Mac? (as opposed to 20th anniversary Apple).

This may mean nothing, but... colleague was just on the phone to large UK reseller, who said "all G4s towers are in contraint" ie they aren't getting deliveries.

He says this usually means changes are afoot, and that the word was that new machines are coming and that they will be X-only.

At the same time this reseller has several hundred G4s in stock - but seemed keen to knock £50.00 off some 1Ghz for us.

The ony way I can "wait" for the 970 is if I run out of money for a G4 PM. But then, I guess I can live with the G4 and wait for when the 970 hits 2.5 GHz.

So, I believe it was the 17th that the first bomb was dropped because that days paper said so in the headlines IIRC. Or maybe US declared war on the 17th?

    sorry for off topic

I guess i depends on what time zone we are speaking of. I was speaking of the time zone I was in at the time. True that Iraq is about 7-8 hours later. I remember this happening after work (about 6 PM (CST)). Thus we are both "right" (hey how did THAT happen).

Wow, you can count! But, perhaps you should learn to read too? The bit of text I quoted read:

[quote]Hoping to wait for the first 970 Revision in Jan-2004

So, Jan 1984 to Jan 2004, how many years is that?
