This war is inevitable.... it was decided long ago. The 27th will just be the excuse to proceed. This date for Apple is insignificant, I feel.
All this speculation must be killing iMac sales, so I wouldn't be supprised to see the iMacs bumped on Tuesday. Of course I was hoping that they would be delayed further for something really special, but it looks like nothing spectular is going to happen on the performance front just yet.

So wrong, speculation isnt killing iMac sales, specs are.
Heh -- maybe it all hinges on the Raiders winning. The Cali team goes home sad, Steveo's sad. I don't see how the Raiders are going to lose, though...

All displays still have normal lead times (1-5 days). This seems to indicate that the 5GB iPod, all iBooks and the 15" iMac are getting an update soon, and the displays are not going to be refreshed until later. Year of the laptop indeed! Unexpected PowerBook updates followed soon by updated iBooks.
Maybe it doesn't mean a thing, but I think it's interesting. (Note: on Friday, the iBooks had something like a 3-5 day lead time on them). Here's hoping.

Lead-times for iBooks in european Apple-Stores are still 1-2 days.
I just called Apple about the 7-10 week ship time on the 12.1" iBook 800, and was told that there are mistakes with the shipping times on several products right now. It is still at 1-3 days for that model, anyway.
I also got 1-3 days for a 12.1" PowerBook, which is of course wrong...
Maybe Apple is purposely buggering ship times up on everything right now so we won't be saying "iMACS ARE 5-7 DAYS NOW OMFG THAT MEANS NEW iMACS!!!!11"
Fran, I hope you cancelled all those orders, and don't have the old 1-Click turned on, else you could find yourself looking at rather more Macs than you really need...
Not to mention a nasty credit card bill...
Back on topic: I make it 11:17 am in Cupertino right now... Still nothing to get excited about over at Infinite Loop.
/me goes back to sleep until next Monday for the download frenzy

Hmmmm. Ugly, too. I hate it when things like that happen.
Nothing yet... give it a week. Or at least a couple hours.
EDIT: Heh, just realized it's like 7 AM in California... so if there's anything today, it'll be later.

nVidia GeForce FX came out today.

You mean for PC?
are you sure this isn't some kind of ripple effect from the dock strike?

No because I got my gig pbook shortly after it ended overnighted by fedex.
a dock strike of that magnitude could impact a company in a myriad of ways.
for the want of a nail....etc....etc
the dock strike didn't effect just finished goods coming into the u.s. it also effected parts and goods leaving the u.s.

People are already getting the new AlBooks so I don't think it's strike related.
