My professor bases all the names for his computers on the characters from Alice and Wonderland. The only ones I can remember were Alice (duh) and Mad-Hatter.

I never really thought to name my Powerbook until I came across this thread. I'm gonna have to put some thought into it. Althought I like "The Good Book" idea.

Bigboote, from Buckaroo Bonzai (I'm old). I've never

    gotten tired of that joke.

My other machine is named, er, Thoth.

I thought about naming it "asswipe" - pronounced "asswipay" -

    but that was too crude.

    Thoth

OMFG. That was my screen-name after the Big Black Out?... until I started seeing someone on the MacNN forums with the same name...so Jon fixed it to my 'real' name.

The reason I was 'wowed' was because of your history.

As OS10Geek, I gave you shit.

As Placebo, I gave you mild shit.

As Zed, I gave you big shit.

As an exile, I pleaded for your return.

Oh my god, are you the son I never had?

No, just the son who you've been lucky enough not to have.

And just because you gave me shit, you'll reincarnate as a PC nerd

BTW, who knew this would be such a successful thread?

Same deal here man. I don't really call it "f***ing computer" all the time. I call it my iMac, my POS, my computer.

But I wouldn't be caught dead calling a computer "Lenny" or something.

I don't see why anyone would give a name to a piece of metal with pretty plastic strapped on. Seems kinda girly.
