I saw mention of this on another forum. I hear the response time is 16ms! Freakin amazing for a display that size. I am gonna have a hard time not breaking out the credit card when it comes out.
This thread is killing me, I have a Dual G5 w/ 20" Cinema Display on order... It might not come in under the end of October and while I'm okay with waiting?if a new line of displays is released within a week I'll be ticked off to no end?I could always cancel the display order but I want them on the same invoice for applecare later on.
I was only thinking about this on the way to work this morning. All the PowerBooks have a DVI connector now. ADC was designed to replace cable clutter, this job (except power to the monitor) is now taken care of with the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
Also, IIRC the larger Apple LCD's were stretching the power supply limit of ADC.
Bye bye ADC? I certainly hope so, Apple could probably make some nice $$ selling monitors to PC users. The original Apple Studio Display was superb in this respect; AV inputs, VGA, DVI.

PC users can use the same adapter PowerBook users do, or some third-party one.
you know what would be really awesome too, is a simple analog video out to plug into the front of a tv or something... not that i would realy use it a lot, but it would attract a lot of pc people that want to play their games on a tv... the port would be on the monitor for those of you who are confused...
so that the existing ones can be priced dropped. then i might get an end of line cinema for around my budget figure of 1100 uk pounds (where as i can only get the 20" for that now)
aw, I'm waiting for someone to up the res from 1920x1200. When are we going to see something like 2560x1600????
I read somewhere that DVI has some internal limitation that it can't go above a particular resolution (like it has "dual streams"?) (Where's "Programmer" who knows all this tech stuff?)
Anyway, I'm not in the market for the high-dollar stuff but I would like to see a 17" widescreen with an arm like the iMac... but not with an iMac on the end of it.

Anyone else in this situation?
Me too, kind of. I've got the 17" Apple monitor I bought with my 8500 like eight years ago hooked up to my dual G5. I was planning on picking up a 23" the day my new machine arrived, when I read about the possible release of new models in November.

Specifically I'd like to see one come out in November.
I'd like the new 30" in order to drop the price of the 23" below $1000.
