What I meant was that the current iPods need a better remote, like my remote that came with the Sony Discman I got five years ago.
I'll give you that one. The current iPod controller is useless. The stick ones you get with high end MiniDiscs are pretty cool, but I still reckon they should not be included with a miniPod, firstly to keep costs down, and secondly, because I don't see the need with something so small. We'll compromise - have a new remote for the iPod and make it available for $40 or whatever for the miniPod.
All those mock ups forget one thing- Jobs has said that the scroll wheel is intrinsic to the iPod experience- my betting is any new design will have the same concept or a reinterpretation of it on it- not a jog dial thing like dell or sony, but the apple version
Well, it's not quite what I had in mind, but I think it is a clever design. It still looks very iPodish. I want to see how the new button layout works.
It's a simple, cool looking iPod. I wasn't all that thrilled when the current iPod had the button layout re-arranged, but I've managed to get used to it.
It does look very "mini" tho! I hold my iPod (15 gig) and I think it's pretty small the way it is. I want to see these new ones "in person".
