Eh, set a monkey at a typewriter and it's bound to hit the right keystrokes every once in a while.
That's what I always say about Rush Limbaugh. Every time he says something about getting a prediction right, I scream at the radio "WELL IF I TALKED ABOUT POLITICS NON-STOP FOR 3 HOURS A DAY I'D GET SOMETHING RIGHT FROM TIME TO TIME, TOO!!"
If MM were some kind of heavyweight politician or political commentator, I would actually care whether or not he were "right" or "wrong." But he's not. He's a filmmaker. Even more, he's a maker of documentaries, which means that he is in the business of making films that make arguments.
I don't know what the hell MM shoved up the right wing's ass (other than Roger and Me), but you'd think he badmouthed Reagan in public or something.
Oh wait. I mentioned Reagan and forgot to genuflect.
Wait? MM has had a 3-hour long daily talk radio program listened to by millions? No. Sorry. He's not. He's a documentarian and labor-loving social critic who's put out a couple of books, made a handful of movies that you would probably be hard-pressed to find 10 people who had seen them (I dare you: walk up to ten people on the street and see if they've seen Bowling for Columbine, Downsize This, and Roger and Me; then ask those same people if they've listened to Limbaugh), and he's had a couple of TV shows that failed (IIRC) in the first season.
Moore has had neither the exposure nor the staying power that Rush has had.

You have things to say about Rush but consider Moore out of bounds?
No. But I consider the comparison of the two, and the bizarre desire of the right to turn him into some kind of whipping boy, both bizarre and misguided.

BTW before anyone tries it I don't listen to Rush and could careless about him. He's a big dope just like Moore. [/B]
Then maybe you shouldn't talk about Rush and try to make bizarre comparisons since you've just admitted that you don't listen to him? Have you seen MM's films? Do I need to turn this conversation around right now and take it back home so we can make sure you know what you're talking about?
I listen to Rush nearly every day. I must say that I prefer Boortz, who is far funnier and less bombastic.
I understand that you can miss time if you make it up in the same quarter. He missed a year so obviously he didn't make it up in a quarter. Also, he left the state (Arkansas?) he was in with the guard. Supposedly he wasn't supposed to do that either, at least not for a year or more.
Anyway, if he was gone for a year, how is that OK? That's been my only question about this whole issue.
Well bunge go find the NYT article and read up. Either way it anit no AWOL or deserter. Ergo Moore is a liar. But we knew that already. Clark doesn't have the balls to call a lie a lie.

Ergo the moon is made of cheese. Ergo Newton was wrong. Ergo the earth is flat. Ergo it's turtles all the way down.
That's a nice word you have there, "ergo." Means "therefore." Too bad just using it doesn't make something so.

YMMV.
But see, that's what you don't understand. Any criticism of a war-time president, no matter how fact-based, is hate speech.

Nice source.
The Freepers creep me out.
Please, keep the beer. I'm trying to get rid of what's left over from my party Saturday.

You probably believe that BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE was an anti-gun movie.
