*yawn* its 2.30AM and I didn't finish my effing essay. Nevermind.
I just want to share with you two things before I go to bed:
1) 'smegma' is a really funny word... heh
2) I never knew until this very day, that a foreskin is what allows a guy to wank with his hand, 'just like that'. I never understood it before. I always thought in terms of 'no skin'. When you're circumcised you can't do that cos it would just be rubbing your hand over your- ahem- and sweat and friction soon see that that comes to a stop.

...and I finally get why Americans are always going on about hand lotion like it is some kind of joke...
Actually, it's kind of strange thinking about a whole nation having to use hand lotion to jerk off. This is freaking me out.

So circumcision is really a means to supress masturbation: Just lock up the hand lotion from the boys and you're set... Is hand lotion only sold to adults in the US? (Sorry, just kidding).
I have had to have the snip quite recently, I was told that there was no other alternative in this particular case. I am not bothered about it, but then again I had a choice!
Then you are the perfect person to ask, because you have experienced both situations.
Do you notice diminished sensitivity because of nerves being cut? Do you, in fact, think nerves actually 'were' cut?
Was the pain excruciating and long-lasting? Was any anaesthetic used? How long did it take to heal?
Have you begun to notice desensitization due to exposure to clothing, etc.
Obviously, none of this is any of my business; so please feel perfectly free to ignore my questions. But I think others in this thread would also be interested in your answers.
Carol A. So far there has been no change in sensitivity. The operation was carried out under a general anesthetic in an NHS hospital. I could not work for 1 week and for about 1 month was walking like John Wayne!! I still get twinges of discomfort a couple of months down the line, but it's fine.
I would never advocate this operation, UNLESS[U], for medical reasons. Like religion, I believe children have the right to decide when they're old enough on such decisions and that parents force on this matter is pure selfishness and is mutilation.
btw: the name crustibooga came about when every combination of my name had been used for an IM account I was setting up, so I just thought of the most rediculous, easy to remember name that no one else could possibly have thought of.
And for the foreskin during sex it's simple, during the penetration the foreskin is going under the tassel, and it looks like a circumsided one (sorry for the details). Basically i will say it look the same during sex, but look different otherwise.
Does that mean i'm NOT the biggest dummy in this universe if I can't tell the difference when I see ... ? \ (and don't feel like asking either) ..
(must be beacause any time i try to look they get up?)
theory from those (certain quoted doctors) trying to justify a whacko and antiquated religious practice with no, or very little and dubious at that, medical benefits.

As I have posted above in this thread, I am in the anti-circumcision camp and my wife and I decided against circumcising our little son.
That being said, I think that some of the arguments in this thread, such as those posted above, might go a bit too far. To my surprise, I found that there does appear still to be a ongoing medical debate about this issue and some doctors who were previously strongly in the anti-circumcision camp are now supporting medical circumcision.
I will post again a link to pro-circumcision medical arguments. http://www.circinfo.net/ Ultimately, reading through this site did not change my mind, but I will acknowledge that it does appear to provide a reasoned and up-to-date medical point of view, rather than just "whacko", "outdated" arguments.
Ultimately, my view is that the medical debate is a good thing - and this matter should be addressed at that level. Neverthless, in the meantime, we all still have to make personal decisions, and my personal decision, until the pro-circumcision doctors make stronger arguments that win the day, is that they are not touching my son's penis.
I don't get the BJ thing. Why is being circ'ed beneficial?
depends on the chick. like, on this side of the pond, most chicks have encountered mostly (or solely) cut penii. so i imagine when they do encounter a natural, they are surprised/confused, possibly disgusted, and less willing. being cut i don't really know what they'd say to a uncut dood, i'm just guessing.

the lotion part freaks you out? not just thinking about a whole nation jerking off?
and it's optional. results can be achieved without.
.
i'm pissed off about my parents' decision. when ma told me, she said it was for medical reasons. she's a frickin nurse. she should've known. i marked down barbaric. i can understand if you're religious, and its a requirement. but for us non-Jews, its just ridiculous.

1. You can masturbate with out using lotion.
2. When having sex you can come fully out and in with less 'cock-bending'.
3. You'll appreciate it on those cold winter days.
I think this pretty much sums it up.
/me is uncut

exactly! you must have very disgusting hygienes if your penis smells.
also, it's natural. never will understand the reasoning behind such a phenomena.
Carol A, you asked earlier about German men... the vast majority of them are NOT circumcised.
You're actually "odd" if you ARE circumcised. The reverse is the case here in the USA for some odd reason.
Pretty disturbed.
