    Playing with it now.

    Nothing broke, at least.

Of course, no one else has upgraded to AIM 5.5 yet, so...

Should I assume that this also adds straight voice communication (for those of us with mics but not webcams)?

Give 'em a few spokes and make them want to tie it all together with the wheel...

Grr, gut instinct told me to bring my PB to work today .

Anyway, I upgraded AIM to 5.5. I read from the website that only XP users can use video chat. How enormously dim is that!?

I would use "Connect to Talk" for audio chat, correct?

I've just tried using only the Audio Chat (Talk) and it doesn't seem to work for me

On iChat I don't get a microphone icon to click for my windows machine.

On the Windows machine, I can click the Talk button, but then it comes up with:

    Quote:

*myusername is not accepted Talk invitations or does not support the Talk feature.

Anyone had any luck with this? Or is it just me. Usually is.

Okay so I see how to do video... But it is apparently not letting my friend chat to me using audio. We don't have cameras but it lets us do it if we select video... Any ideas? Do I need to turn on audio chat in iChat? 'Cuz I dont see an option there.

Does this version do one way video chat? Or do both users have to have a Firewire web cam?

I dunno people no longer show up for voice chat anymore they just show up with the little video camera, Even if all they have is a mic..

NOTE: If iChat isn't in the Applications folder it can't install. I thought the Installer had grown up from the retard it used to be.

Do I really have to update to Panther just to TEST this EXPIRING update?

I won't certainly buy ichatAV if I can't even try if it works .

I almost understand why they don't give away the full free version (like AOL), but they could at least give away an expiring beta!

If there is a way I could test this sw please let me know. thanks

Does the Windows user have to have a cam connected even if it's not in use?
