I had problems at first though - my existing apple ID kept bringing up the US registration form (probably because I'd been fiddling about trying to see if you could access the free download songs from outside the US)
I'm on the UK store now. I can't get on through the iTunes music store button, but I followed a link from the Apple UK page which opened iTunes store.
BUT.. at the moment there are only 'Buy album' buttons and no 'buy song' ones.
Also the iTunes essential mixes aren't available. I'm leaving it until later. They've obvously got problems. Ah well.. it would have been great to buy the second it opened
Of course each store is specific to that particular country. That is why there are localized stores. This was always the case. Different labels for same artists, different royalty structures, etc. It's amazing that it all got worked out. The servers are probably being overtaxed at the moment.
Different versions of iTunes seems to have been made for download in each respective country.
Maybe by downloading "your" version we can get the thing to work properly.
I must have downloaded the US version previously.
Ah well, I thought the one version would do \
In!!!!
Nope that doesnt work either
Her's how I got in.
Open iTunes Music Store
Click button which says Account Sign In
Then click Create New Account
Look for the option which says ... 'If your account is not in the USA click here' then choose your country and follow instructions for registration... and hey presto!
Just tried on another Mac and where it gave the option of ... acount in USA, this Mac came in as ... account in UK.
But the secret is having to register with CC details first at the moment it seems.

I think MiMac meanty different localised versions of the program itunes, not the store. But in any case, I don't think this is the problem - it's just some teething troubles. It all seems to work fine for me.
Since both Napster and Apple have music stores available in the UK and not Canada, I think it's the Canadian recording industry that is causing the delay. The relevant organized bodies must be trying to keep Puretracks and such afloat for as long as possible while delaying Napster, iTunes, Real, etc.
I guess you're right, but there are legal music download services operating here already. i know apple wants to enforce their rules, and it makes sense, i just wish for that "not there yet" screen to go away
I think that the German stores collection is lacking a lot of local music... the music offered is either old or they don't have the band at all although they made it into the top ten.
Weird. I hope this situation will be improved soon

Dude, chill. Just go to the home page and select the UK store from the popup menu. The prices then appear in pence.
There is no UK/US versioning, that would be insane.

Well back to Poisoned...since it's not illegal here in Canada. Fuck you Canada.
Is Canada EUROPE???????????
Jesus...
"Internationally" doesn't mean "every country on the planet".
Besides, Apple never said "internationally"...only "European"...
Jobs confirmed the European launch of iTMS on June 15.

if that...
"Apple Launches iTunes Music Store in the UK, France & Germany"

and the whole thing keeps defaulting back to the US store
Let it get up and running.
