As of this writing, Apple has had the WiFi network that we scouted out in the Apple Expo building turned off. That means that we aren't going to have live coverage of the keynote, but we will be the first to post Apple's announcements, including pics and a movie as soon as we can get it posted.

Yeah this is a new policy...I can vouch for themhere. Apple did the *exact* same thing durning the WWDC keynot in June. Many of us there were mighty pissed, and had fun making ad-hocs with rude names

Come chat with us at http://jaycr.sytes.net/v2/chat/. I'm posting the updates in the chat so you don't all have to put up with the cgi problems plus we can help the iPod France servers out a bit.

I should be in bed. Instead I'm up reading this keynote coverage.

Sure sure, I haven't missed a keynote in years, but so far its just a rehash of all the latest happenings... gameplan as usual.

But yes, good stuff will come to those who wait. Too bad its gonna take at least another hour. Oh well, I guess I'll try and get some code on.

Tomorrow morning I'm heading down to the Kerry campaign office to help. not really related, but I don't think I'll show up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. Although this really belongs in Political Outsider.

Anybody else notice the US Apple Store is down? It says it is updating up within the hour.

If tomorrow Apple posts a recorded Quicktime stream I'll watch it and quietly bitching about staying up late.

Those plugs on the side wouldn't work and the base is too narrow.

Hmmm, I know it's going to have it's detractors, if this is real, but I can't help but really like it. It reduces the machine to the bare minimum. This is just about as minimalist as Ives can get, I'd say. I think he nailed it. Especially considering the newer asthetic the PMG5's and CD's have now. If it's real, well, way to go Apple.
