Yeah, remember that time where I said it was good music, and not good music because it was indie?
Let's see...Any list with Gorrilaz on it is obviously not an indie list. Fiona Apple? Coldplay, for christ sakes? Obviously I wasn't refering to a feeling of collective indie arrogance, I was refering to good music. I was refering to the fact that 50 Cent's new album hadn't come up as a recomendation, and that's the only thing that I meant with that statement.
Remember that time you started arguing with yourself? I was referring to my own conflicted feelings about independent music. On one hand I like having a number of artists "to myself" in a sense but on the other hand I wouldn't reject an artist for reaching a wider audience. Most of the "independent" bands I like anyway are relatively popular, especially if they appear on a Pitchfork Best Of list.
That said, I also enjoyed Roisin Murphy Ruby Blue and The White Stripes Get Behind Me Satan. The latter seems a bit unfinished but they have at least 3-4 stellar singles on it.
I seldom go for Indie acts, or female singers (Fiona Apple makes me cringe..no offense.)
Some Indie is okay, like Grandaddy or Postal Service. I'm into some rap acts, but they must have a good deal of substance; Saul Williams is a great example. His lyrics are amazing.
Deep down, my heart belongs to Industrial and Electronic music. Kraftwerk, NIN, Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, you name it.
And Trick Fall, you lucky bastard, not only are B&S amazing live, but this album is one of their best.
Have you gotten the Life Pursuit yet? The deluxe edition which was only a buck more at Virgin came with six song live DVD from a BBC performance that's pretty good.

Yeah, yeah. I got a copy a few months ago (legality questionable) and, because I listened to it semi-often, I purchased it the day it came out. It's better than If You're Feeling Sinister, but it doesn't quite top Dear Catastrophe Waitress. Even with that said, it almost gets there and it's still a fantastic album all-around.

That's right. Technically, it was about me being sarcastic.
It has nothing to do with my missing your sarcasm in this toneless format.
