    Oh, Ouch! That is harsh.

I often work into the wee morning hours with some A/V projects or restoring wedding photos but I always try to work around holidays. Not so easy in your job, but we've all been in this situation; working on special days.

Let's put it this way: the sooner I'm out of this job, the better I'll be. I hardly eat right, and I get more frequent headaches; I have one right now. I want out of food service for good.

Flick, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say... are you under the influence? You should get some sleep, dear.

I recently got my Associate's degree. I'm an Animation major. I want to work for Pixar, but until then, I'd rather be in retail.. specifically Apple's retail.

Call every TV station in your area, ask if they have anything in entry level production, you may be shooting and editing as well as doing motion graphics, but it is a foot in the door...and you, as a creative type would probably enjoy it more than even the Apple Store (I dont care what company it is, retail sucks -- I am a huge geek, I thought I would LOve radioShack...2 months later I quit at 9 am Christmas eve because the boss was bitching at me for not lying.)

You may also try local newspapers or publishing houses for graphic design positions.

I just recently updated my website's art section, among other things. I have a link to it on my profile. Go ahead and take a look.

    Thanks for the tips, a_greer.

your profile says that you like HBO shows; how about The Sopranos? That is one of the best shows I have ever seen on TV.

Nice ironic movie trailer too -- Algore wasting tons of film, batteries, fuel for the vehicals and jet flights here and there, God knows how many KW/Hrs of electricity and loads of hot air telling me to conerve the world by taking mass transit, which here is a bus that burns 3x the fuel of my car or more and usually has 3-4 passengers...synical: yea, thats me...he flys in private jets and I am illresponsable with resorces?

I like the Sopranos, but I haven't been able to watch it for a while; too busy.

By the way, it's irresponsible. If mass transit is put more widely in use, and Americans can wean themselves off of the need for their own cars, which we're too selfish to share our personal space with someone else, then we can use less transportation. Since obviously buses accomodate about 20-30 people at a time, then less of them will be used, as opposed to the cars and trucks we drive, in which most cases, even though about 6 people can fit into most of them, only 1-2 people actually use them on a daily basis. I see people driving SUVs all the time and only one person will be in there. It's the carpool idea. Europe has been doing it for decades. It's time we learn from them. We've become far too selfish and have been scapegoating for far too long. It's not just Gore, it's the entire country.

I would love mass transite if the following problems were solved:

    A: I cant get a ride after 9pm and before 7 AM

B: it takes 1.5HRS to get to a mall that is a mile and a half away and LITERALY a 3 minute drive if all the lights are red.

C: Gas for me is cheaper than bus fair for all the places I want to go and in many cases they cant get me there at all.

    and

D: the only folks who ride busses here* are drunks who lost their license, jobless loosers, potheads, lots of folks that have...ahem...questionable bathing habbits; in general, folks that I would rather not be around. (although the contact highs from the potheads were not all bad...)

*except high school students without cars (thats where I got the experiance)...

If more normal people rode them, there wouldn't be so many questionable characters. Besides, most of them, believe it or not, want nothing to do with you. I've ridden with them before, and they didn't do anything.. and I'm a young, white female! Buses wouldn't be the only solution, the government needs to get off its dead, arrogant ass and install a mass electromagnetically powered rail train system. I'm sure with more usage, they will also solve the passenger schedule issues by running during late hours.

Well, I've been talking to Brits like you for six years now.. you all have grown on me. That, and I'm just genuinely concerned about finding alternate transportation methods. Us Yanks need to learn from Europe.. it's about fucking time... you know?

The differance is that their countries are the size of our states, and sometimes smaller...mass transite is easy to pull off there, a train from Brelin to Paris is easier to justify than a commuter line from say NY to Chicago, there are lots of population-dence metro areas there...not much demand for a rail line in western Penn. or Ohio...

Also, the busses for local service suck here anyway, they stop at 9 on weeknights and 6 on weekends: they get you within about a quarter mile (often more like 1/2 mile) of where you want to be, which isnt bad unlesss it is 5 below and there is a foot of snow and ice on the ground...

all that asside, I would love puplic transit if it were more efficiant than my car, but as it stands now in the USA, outside of NY and the burrows or maybe Chicago or LA, mass transit is a joke.
