Thank You!
By this I mean, doesn't rely on an online service. Nearly all of these are just interfaces for online companies (NYT, Ebay, Facebook, Myspace, etc)
So does anyone find it weird that Facebook and Google have standalone apps when they have such great web apps? I guess dropping the overhead for display data will make things snappier.
MySpace? Really? Okay?

the google app strikes me as VERY odd, but the facebook one i can see use for, and praise the lord there is a myspace one, as myspace on mobile safari SUCKS! (unless there is a web app for that i didnt know about)
Nice to see these apps finally available... really looking hard at that iPod touch now....
Same here. 2ND Generation should be in 2 months- no? You think they'll do a white one as well?
The NYTimes app looks fantastic. Does the app require you to have a login to view the whole article like their web site? Any noticeable or heavy use of advertisements?
No login that I've seen. There is a banner ad across the bottom of the individual article pages, fixed position, above the category selection bar, roughly 60 pixels high.
Any help with the remote function. It still says "Could not find Library."
Assuming the library you're trying to find is running iTunes 7.7, you're probably running into a firewall issue. If you have one enabled, either allow mDNS or disable it temporarily — others have said that once the connection is established and PIN exchanged, Bonjour is no longer needed. Not positive about that, but worth a shot.

I guess you have to make sure you have iTunes 7.7 and make sure to enable look for remotes in iTunes preferences.
bollox.
AOL looked good. As did Ebay...
Pants!!!
