That's exactly what I want to know. While all logic indicates that it is, I'm still waiting for my ADC email to verify the damn thing.

I sure hope it's not GM. has anyone else tried to print? it keeps stopping the que on my HP-DJ1220c, which worked great under 10.1.5

While I love 10.2, if C115 is GM, and being pressed to CD as we speak, I will have a bad feeling in my stomach.

Here's hoping that the C115 seed is a covert attempt to root out Pirates, and not a buggy system, released to fulfil a deadline.

I know people will argue until the boxed CD's arrive, but to hopefully set things straight:

    1. 6c115 is the build that will arrive in Jaugar boxes on August 24th. This build has been released internally inside Apple and to developers.

Specifically, the build shows the following in the Apple System Profiler:

    Darwin Kernel Version 6.0: Sat Jul 27 13:18:52 PDT 2002; root:xnu/xnu-344.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC

    2. There are already a number of known bugs, including the Finder FTP bug which has a very high priority to be fixed. Most of the bugs are minor and most have been logged for fixing.

    3. An update (Maybe "10.2.1", but it's too early to say yet) will be released early in September to fix those bugs.

To put these things in perspective - Apple doesn't just stop work on OS X after a release build, the developers are still working day-to-day as they have been, and more internal builds are being created. At some point every now and again a build is declared suitable for release allowing for various factors (timeframe, the purpose of the build etc).

Ok, so I am burning the image to a CD as I type this...One question...Does anyone know if 6c115 will be able to be updated?? Sure this would be purely speculative, however going by past experience...

    I just don't want to be stuck when say 10.2.1 comes out...thanks. <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

I think it's clear by now that 6C115 will be the build on the CD when you buy it on August 24. If some - or other - feature doesn't work right now, it'll be updated with the first software update. Why not have 10.2.1 ready on the 'net already, when you can buy the CD?

After I've crashed my 6C115 totally (by installing something quite unsupported) I was able to 'recover' the OS (which didn't boot any more) by just 'updating' it with the same build (from the same burned CD). So I guess that even if there will be another build on the final CD, we'll just be able to 'update'. Also, final candidates don't state that you won't be able to update like earlier builds did. Just go ahead and install on your production machines, if you have the build legally.

Well, I did it, got it installed. It ROCKS!! This is the GM release, and the performance on a 700mhz iBook is great. I thought the "beach ball" was supposed to be solid blue now?? Mine looks a little different, but is still multi colored. Also, there is no mention of quartx extreme, ie is it running or not. I guesse we are supposed to assume. The new finder is really nice, Sherlock is cool, but a blatant knock off of Watson. Anyway, just my first observations.... Seems really stable, and fast though, did I mention that already??

    I just got it yesterday.

Wow....bootup on both my iBook and SlowSilver(tm) are much quicker.

    App relaunch is stellar

    But some annoying mouse freeze

iCal and iSync are scheduled to be released in September. I would imagine that any associated preference panels, etc., would to be availalbe for installation at the time too.

According to what I read, you have to have a tablet hooked up to your computer for Ink to install/appear. (Are the Ink files installed only at the point when 10.2 gets install, or will Ink appear if you hook up a tablet later?)

Will Inkwell work with an ADB drawing tablet (On the first generation B&W... you know, the one with the precrippled IDE interface...)

So I am running 10.2 6c115. There is one bug that annoys me, which is in System Prefs/Mouse.

If you select "Ignore trackpad while mouse is present" nothing happens(while a mouse IS present of course). Seems as if "Ignore trackpad while typing" doesn't work properly either.

By the way, this would, of course, only affect PowerBook/iBook users.

So, would they ship with this?

    Defiant,

Warpd is indeed running a pirated version if he had "just gotten it", seeing that 6C115 was seeded before 8/10.

Well warpd, if you had not pirated the OS, then you wouldn't have to worry, eh?

Yes, because 6C115 is 10.2 final.
