there's one issue that isn't fixed with 115, if you have images on your desktop, and you select the option to show the preview, the icon of the image files is obviously the preview of said image, however when you select it, there is no dimming, ie no feedback whatsoever that the icon is selected. This can get annoying quickly. No text selection on anything on the desktop is already pretty annoying and confusing at times, but no selection at all...

...The last all-blue one was so much cooler... ;_;
But anything's better than the current implementation though, that doesn't resemble anything.

well, it does. it comes from the old NeXT days...
I saw a Screenshot somewhere who showed the "spinning Beach Ball of Death" in NeXT. The only thing that were different were the colors. It was only grayscale...but basically the same.
I searched over half an hour on the internet, but didn't found anything.
maybe Brad has a screenie with the cursor around somewhere...
The original NeXT Cube shipped with an optical drive (Yet Another Item Way Ahead Of Its Time) as the user's primary data source.
Because optical drives were quite a bit slower at seeking than hard drives, when the OS was waiting on data from the optical drive, it would put up the spinning disk to indicate that the optical drive was working on something.
This then became the general wait cursor for the OS, indicating that *something* was going on.
And then MacOS X inherited it, even though the original meaning is lost.
I thought it was supposed to look like a spinning CD, but your explanation makes more sense. Neways, I still don't think it really resembles anything, it's just ugly. You have to concentrate really hard to make it resemble a very ugly rendition of a spinning optical disc.

I get neither of these problems.
Anyway, as promised, I whipped out my video camera and captured the new spinning cursor. Here it is:

Anyone notice how, in mini-windows, the title in the title-bar is not centred correctly? It always is riding the top, and its somewhat annoying.
I guess this is not speific to 6C115, but . . . it needs to be corrected!
BTW, the beach ball really needs to die. See the thread, "Beach Ball of Death" for more information.
It's an optical disk, spinning.
