AppleScript 1.9.1 contains a preview release of something that AppleScripters have wanted for ages: Hooks into the system event handler that allow them to control application widgets. Once this goes final, AppleScripts will be able to reliably control OS X apps (or parts of apps) that aren't scriptable by selecting menus, pushing buttons, typing text into fields, etc.
This update is the best yet. Wait until you try it, it has fixed so many bugs and IE 5.2 is really fast. Much as I like Chimera, IE seems to have it beaten.

does that mean my applescript project to automatically post what is playing in iTunes into the what are you listening to right now thread is probably going to work soon?!?
After the first install I had the Garbage Screen of Death again, right when the monitor switches resolution. After reinstalling Jaguar I got the GSOD with the twirly thing going around the first time. Reinstall (again) and it worked. Installed 10.2.3 and wait and see, I guess.
itunes is still a resource pig, but I guess that's to be expected.
Proud iBook Owner 2k2 I have the same problem in 10.2.2 on my iBook 500! And I rely on the status bar too. Every now and then icons won't highlight, meaning when I click them they don't get darker. I hope 10.2.3 fixes this. And speed couldn't hurt.
Only thing I've really noticed so far is that iChat is much snappier. Connections establish quickly, and no more pauses when clicking between windows & then typing a new message.
BTW the macs at the Apple store in Tyson were all running 10.2.1 when I was there yesterday. Hows that for a vote of confidence?

You do realize they reset all of the systems every night, right? They probably just don't have a restore image readily available with 10.2.3 yet.

Aside from this hitch, I haven't noticed anything different than .2.

If so, does it work as before?
