Keep in mind that not all of those machines are hooked up to the Internet (most likely). And those which are, have to be updated after-hours, or during a lull in customers.
So they probably didn't have an opportunity to let the software install just yet.

All the machines are hooked up to the internet in the Apple Stores.
Well No trouble here. Everything is faster and better, Yippy! Games run better and the Finder is faster and all Graphics are faster. And apps launch in much less time and on and on and on. Wow this is great for a point upgrade! I LOVE YOU APPLE!
Anybody running the big Adobe apps on 10.2.3 yet? I'm in the middle of a big project and can't afford to take the risk just yet...but curious as to how the Adobe apps perform.
Though its not listed in whats new I notice a cosmetic change in iChat... The 3 window buttons seem to be more embedded into the windows... like its carved in.. Maybe its been like that since 10.2.0 but im not sure...
I have this problem with my iMac G4 all the time, but never on my TiBook. How do I fix it. Its driving me mad! </strong><hr></blockquote>
do you mean a permanent fix? or just until the next time the sound screws up... i have no idea what is even causing it, actually up until now I thought it was a problem isolated to TiBooks... for the temporary fix, see the link you quoted
Has anyone else noticed that this latest release of 10.2.3 will update almost anything. I used to be running a copy of 6C106 on a G4/500 and it updated that beta straight through to the full 10.2.3.... The previous updates werent even available in 6C106's software updates window.
But yeah, 10.2.3's even better than 10.2.2, my startup time on a 1ghz MDD has vastly improved (not sure why, I don't think it ever has to wait for the local disks anymore, whereas it used to sometimes take 20 seconds)...
I must give a STRONG word of warning about applying official updates over unofficial beta builds. Although it may install properly (because you probably pulled the combo update) it is still very likely that some incomplete components from the beta build are still lurking around your system. The beta builds do sometimes change files that aren't updated later in the official releases.
To any of the doubters like drewprops I say that this has been the best 10.2 update yet. All of my apps are working properly, big and small.
I've had 10.2.3 on for a week now and with the addition of the RAM I added yesterday (512MB total now), I'm VERY happy with everything.
Even before adding the RAM, 10.2.3 was fine. Gave me no problems whatsoever.
Running Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Transmit, Internet Explorer, Mail, iChat, iTunes, Extensis Suitcase, Address Book, Sherlock, SnapzPro and printing regularly to an HP DeskJet 5550 with NO problems in any way, shape or form.
I've had 10.2.3 for almost 2 days now since I was having a problem the other night and had to restart after 44 days (thanks again Brad!) and I haven't noticed any changes in performance. Everything seems the same as 10.2.2 did.
I've had x.2.3 since the day it was released. 99% of it works great. I had some keychain issues but the KeyChain utlity seems to have fixed it.
The problem i still have (since the update) is usb printer sharing has stopped working. "no printer is available" to the other computers. I have tried every fix I could find from Apples Support forums and from advise in the genius bar, nothing has helped. So far print sharing has worked for 3 months(X.2-x.2.2) since I first started using OSX (3-2001).
Apple really sucks for print sharing, heh, the whole periferal game for Apple sucks.
Sorry for the mini rant, and please dont start flaming me, I love Apple as much as any of you. They just cant get the printing right, and I fear they never will. Randy

it's strange, none of them work now. i'll fix permissions tonight and see if things clean up.
keychain first aid said my keychain was broken, but couldn't fix it.
think i'll just ditch it and start over.
