I've just spent the better part of 3 hours downloading 10.2.2 <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" /> (gotta have 10.2.2 before 10.2.3 - sheesh)
... I actually can't believe that:
1) I have actually enjoyed reading the witty banter on this thread and
2) I'm sort of excited by another upgrade. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

There is a combo update in the Apple Downloads section.
I have a theory as to why we all love upgrades so much... OS X doesn't give us anything else that we really need to tinker with to get it working well. In the classic mac days, I would be constantly be fiddling with extension sets and memory configurations, and a gazillion other settings just to get it working fast, *cough* stable *cough* , and robustly.
Now that we don't need to tinker, even minor upgrades are exciting. I do remember looking forward to 8.1 and 8.6, but I certainly don't think the same amount of hype that's on this forum would have been there.

I got my first mac during the release of System 8. I remember the first few months, constantly downloading patches and updates to play with.
Then they didn't release anything for a year or so... I just felt, well... bored. Where's the new experiences, where is the playing, testing, pushing of boundaries.
That's when I heard of the public beta. I just knew I had to have it... Bought that, the next, the next, but had to shop around a bit for the last (finally found it used (go figure) for 50 bucks CDN...
But now I have all the iApps, (Plus trying to help at the Keynote users in Apple Discussions) more than enough to keep me busy... for a few days, at least.
D'oh I had 10.2.1 - I should have checked it out more thoroughly... <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[oyvey]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>
Happens to me all the time. The first time I did it I used up a whole $30 phone card trying to get it...

When I reinstalled my iBook in late December, I had no problem updating from 10.2.0 to 10.2.3. The SoftwareUpdate app automatically picked the combo update.

You ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer.

No it wasn't a stupid question it was legitimate. I was wondering if anyone had any inside connections and knew about the release date.

Well people do share.

Look, Apple isn't sitting on 10.2.4 waiting to reach some date that they have decided on as the release date.
It will be released when ready!
Perhaps it was supposed to be released yesterday, but I know of at least one bug that needs to get squashed before release.

what's that then?

You think everyone shares? Of course some people do, but most don't.
