Same Here. Right from 10.2.0 to 10.2.3 right out of the chute. Software update did not even offer 10.2.1 or 10.2.2. Not sure what you guys are talking about.
I just had a nasty thought: 10.2.4 is Jaguar Pink, right?
What if they did something nasty to the box, like, say... this:
Anybody fancy abusing the Mac OSX page at www.apple.com the same way?
Seeing as the new PowerBooks have 10.2.4 already (at least the 17 inchers, though they haven't started shipping yet), I think the next jump will be straight to 10.2.5 and will be a paid ($20) upgrade.

?? A potential 10.2.5 will never be a paid upgrade.
[quote] System Requirements: Software: The Apple Fibre Channel PCI card requires Mac OS X, v10.2.4 or Mac OS X Server, v10.2.4. Upgrade your Power Mac G4, Macintosh Server G4, or Xserve to v10.2.4 via automatic Software Update (located in the Systems Preferences panel). Hardware: Xserve or Power Mac G4 with 800Mhz or higher PowerPC G4 processor(s).

Okay this is just getting annoying. Why is Apple taking so long with this release? If it's such a miniscule release as everyone claims on this forum, then there shouldn't be a problem with getting it out a hell of a lot faster than this. I've seen snails move quicker. So either this update is huge because it's got a lot of awesome stuff in it, or Apple is doing just to screw with all of us. Why are they taking so long?

They are taking so long because there is a small history of Apple rushing updates that ended up breaking something, or deleting important files (like say your home directory a'la Safari) and other problems and issues. It is better for them to get the package right at first than to post it, find out what breaks, pull it back, fix it and and post it again. If thye kept doing that nobody would trust the updates and nobody would download them anymore.
BTW, Apple is not promising anything about this release or hyping it in any way. It is those on this forum that are doing so. Apple is not screwing with you, they are simply going through the programming and testing cycles as they should. If it takes longer, no big deal. They have not promised anything to you that they are going back on...

I'm sorry but this is really imature. Would you want them to release something that would " screw " with your hard drive? I would rather they take their time and get it right than to have a nasty pot hole waiting for everyone who downloads it. Then you'd really hear some complaints and there would be a 10.2.5 in short order to fix it. By the way this snails pace, to whom are you comparing it to?

That's why Apple Software Update is free. Your phone company paid Apple $10 of your $30.

Apple?s spending a lot of time fine-tuning and honing this release, and it packs a lot of punch.

That 76MB upgrade is the Combo upgrade.
