More jobs? Hmm, well how about we get rid of the Federal Reserve banking cartel for starters and allow Americans to actually KEEP their hard earned money. How about we downsize the federal government and put state governments back in charge like they were meant to be. How about we keep the feds the heck out of our private lives and get them back to doing things like managing commerce between states? You want to give people motivation and creativity? Return to lawful standards of money that can't be printed out of thin air. Return our citizenship to 'state citizenship' rather than the 'nationalized citizenship' that it is today. Keep our governments close so we can keep a good eye on them once again. Coercion does not create a legal obligation and an unconstitutional act creates no new office (Supreme Court Case Norton v. Shelby County).
Since Apple has their European head office, and processes a lot of their payments internationally through Ireland as well, do you think they are trying to do the same thing?
U.S. President Barack Obama and Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs are scheduled to meet Thursday to talk about economy and technology issues.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Obama and Jobs will meet at a San Francisco Hotel for about 45 minutes, Bloomberg reports.
President Barack Obama must be desperate for some Reality Distortion Field whenever the upcoming elections are mentioned in the same sentence as unemployment or the state of the U.S. economy.

Do you know that Apple makes more than half its sales abroad and they pay 25% tax on their total income in taxes in the US.
And for those who think Obama is a socialist, you don't have a clue as to what constitutes a socialist.

No I don't know that, and I don't really care about it. But since you have brought it up, did you really mean to say "income"? As for your last statement, remember, 97% of the worlds population aren't from the USA.
No lose scenario for Obama. Apple is riding high, maybe Obama gets $$$ for DNC, worse case Obama linked with Apple and Jobs, that can only help Obama's approval rating.
I think Obama would have got more out of it than Steve. Obama must be a certain level of smart to have become president, but Steve has a whole other operating system (as Guy Kawasaki said). When I listen to Steve do Q&A with reporters his answers blow me away sometimes.
100% in agreement with this statement. So soon people forget that it says "Designed by Apple in California" but built in China by suicidal Chinese laborers. Yes, there are about a million problems with building Apple products in America, mostly because the parts still are made in other countries as well (i.e. LCD panels, Chips, memory modules, etc...), and the labor unions would make it such that Apple couldn't possibly profit if they had to pay American workers. But if I were Obama, I'd do my best to convince Jobs to at least think about spending a bit of that $51B to push Apple products into a more American advantage.

That's because Steve doesn't have to worry about pissing people off, and he doesn't have to worry about getting re-elected, or elected in general. He's the Guru of Apple, from it's very inception. and many people hang on his every word, like on this AI site. The keynote where he explains why he didn't put a touchscreen on the new MBair is perfect example.

Dude, you do realize that he's had far fewer vacation days than GWBush?
It's just too bad that Obama took his vacation days while the USA was in the middle of the single most devastating environmental man-made catastrophe in the worlds history.

If manufacturing is going to grow in the USA it will be for new technology items. We need to set things up to encourage / allow that to happen starting today, otherwise tomorrow's manufacturing jobs will be going to other countries as well.

He's not my president.
Google America's Remedy.
Actually it was his own campaign that tried to convince us of that.
Always doubted that O had any "collectivist" witchcraft or "hope/change" magic.
More likely its Steve asking "Don't tax me bro!"
Perhaps Steve will ask him to resign, or at the very least go 180 degrees of his economic policies?
Tax what? His one dollar a year salary?
I would imagine Steve supported Obama and offered to let him borrow the Reality Distortion Field.
How about they find a mutually agreeable way to get a bit more tax revenue from Google?

... It's actually a good move for Obama. Maybe this meeting is the start of his campaign to bring back jobs.
Aerosmith has an old hit song that applies here... DREAM ON

Not to mention he's an f'in genius.
