I envision tears falling on your keyboard as you wrote that. I find it amazing how easily people get hurt feelings over forum posts.

You really must try harder than that. Go ahead, make an ad hominen personal attack. Really go for the jugular if it makes you feel better. And don't forget to not read the forum some more before making blanket comments that don't exist outside your imagination.

Ahhhhh. All one has to do is read just your past 4 posts in this thread to see the obvious.

Can we assume you didn't read all 7 pages then before coming to your conclusion?

PS: Just because you can't feel the earth moving and can see the sun travel through the sky doesn't mean the universe is geocentric, though I'm starting to think you egocentric.

More personal attacks, you can not help yourself can you? You don't get your way you go on the attack. Are things individuals type on a forum that important to you?

    All right, you two.

Guy whose name contains a curse so I have an aversion to typing it, your original comment here made absolutely no sense, nor did your first rebuttal, hence people's replies to it in the negative.

SolipsisimX, your response to his third comment is where you should have stopped, probably. He's obviously doing this on purpose.

    @ Tallest Skil,

You're right. I was having fun but I'll stop.

On a completely unrelated note as a kid it was always fun to poke with a stick the brainless, spineless jellyfish that I found on the beach. I guess poking things just stuck with me.

One of those 2 guys is obviously only here to stir up trouble. I have absolutely no idea why the mods at AI let it continue.

[obviously I must have hit a nerve because one of those two guys replied to this comment... must have felt I was talking about him... hope I didn't hurt his feelings too bad]

1st Only person replying is Solipsisim not people, 2nd, my original comment makes perfect sense, read through the threads and a very large majority is hatred over Samsung and the commercial, count them. It is amazing how people can get so twisted up over a commercial, is it because it hits home and actually IS referring to them? Is it because it makes fun of a product they purchased? Who knows but it is still sad that it can produce such hatred considering it is an TV ad, A TV AD!

Having an opinion other than yours is not stiring up trouble, that is why AI allows it to continue and why you will never be a MOD. IF this was a forum where everyone high fived and patted each other on the back, what would it gain? What would be the point? What fun would it be?

"Hey your awesome", "No, your awesome", "na, you are AWESOME". Kind of boring.

I doubt he'll see it that way. He never comments on the article or debates the content of the article with other posters, instead he attacks the posters never adding to the discussion.

    edit: And there you go.

As was mentioned to me by a few of the other members... you can disagree with people's comments, but that doesn't mean you have to be an asshole.

Boy, those Super Bowl ads sure get people's attention. Most, if not all, of them will never meet the standard set by Apple in 1984.

    Amplitube iRig

    Peavey Ampkit

Instruments that you can control once you hook your synth up to the iPad:

    Moog Animoog

    Korg iMS-20

I don't even know the names of all the various DAWs that are available on the iPad (altho Garageband does this for $5), but you can hookup instruments using the camera USB connection, a specialized controller input like the link available with iRig or Ampkit in stores (microphones too!), you can buy an Alesis I/O Dock or some of its new competitors that got announced at NAMM 2012. Heck there are entire mixing desks that utilize the iPad as their screen and recording area now.

The only Android related product I saw from NAMM 2012 was an app designed to let you follow along on tabs. Shit, I was already doing that on an iPad or for that matter on any web browser for the last 18 years Android has serious latency deficiencies and this is why you never hear much about realtime music production that is being done on Android, b/c none is.

Hellacool has been given some infraction points for trolling, taking his total to 5 (= 3 day ban). Lots of off-topic back-and-forth between him and SolipsismX has been deleted.

Anyway, back on topic: how likely do we think it is that the iPad 3 will have digitiser stylus support? Whilst I really think it should, sadly I'd put it at less than 10% probability. Hope I'm wrong

EDIT: AI has edited and re-worded the article this morning, now saying the stylus is a main form of input rather than primary.

Still the stylus is not a main form of input. It is a great extra tool that is realy useful in everyday life.

I think the only mention of anything related to styluses at either a 6th iPhone or iPad 3 launch will be a jab at Samsung for going in the opposite way of the entire industry, if even that.

A neat little feature in iOS 6 would be allowing third parties more control over the appearance of their app's icon.

Apple has the Calendar app that changes every single day. Why shouldn't there be a weather app that displays the current temperature and a background color that reflects the precipitation? Heck, you could even fit a proper cloud, sun, snowflake, raindrop, or lightning bolt on there behind the temperature.

Or a stocks app that shows share prices. Simple stuff that everyone should be allowed to do.

And that would be Apple's answer to "widgets" (whatever that really means on Android...), period.

The ad is a massive fail. It implies that the stylus is the only form of user input when it's merely an additional option for times when precision is required.

You're serious that you think that digitising styli have no redeeming features? Do you deny that they offer more precision (finer tip + pressure sensitivity) than a finger or capacitive pen? Do you understand that no-one here who thinks a stylus on the iPad would be a good idea is suggesting that it should be the primary form of input?

Yes, that would be nice. But what's that got to do with styli?
