King Chung Huang, could you please try to "crack" the following RTSP addresses?
They are 6 movies from Apple WWDC 2001:[ 12-07-2001: Message edited by: Zeno ]

As a paying ADC member, I think I'll pass on this one.
If you're looking for a way to view all the streams for actual informational purposes, I may be willing to give you one of my ADC TV keys for that. I attended the conference, and got 3 keys to view the sessions online. I have one extra one left. Contact me via e-mail if you're interested.
Nebagakid: Apple does provide a few streams for "free". It costs $400 to access the rest of the streams (and the DVD).
i think you have to be a PAYING developer to view those, right?

No, they're free to everyone; you have to pay if you want the complete DVD of WWDC sessions, though.
If you guys haven't seen it already, I highly recommend the WebObjects technical overview even if you know nothing and don't care about WebObjects. It's hilarious.
Looks like Apple's taking a bit more care in protecting its high-bandwidth streams this time. The 300 kbps stream appears to be stored at:
<snip>

Maybe its cause its part of the whole you need to have QT5 Pro to watch large format? That's the way it was for watching some of the older keynotes as of a few weeks ago.
Anyways .. someone please post the links to the new power of x session.
I just noticed that the Tokyo 2001 keynote (Steve in a suit) that I downloaded some time back cannot be viewed in the QT 6 beta. It is still viewable on QT 5. Hmmmmmm.
Did anyone actually answer the thread topic name? How do you SAVE a stream. (eg, I'm tuning in to watch the expo and want to have it on my local hd to watch later). Just a thought.

You can't save the stream directly (that I know of). Anyway, there are so may dropped frames and such you wouldn't want it anyway. A few days after the event Apple usually makes the stream available from a disk file. If you follow one of the links above you get direct access to the QT file. From there you have various ways to save the file. For example, in iCab option-click on the link and it saves the contents as a file rather than trying to display it.
i should invoke the traditional radio talk show "long time listener, first time caller" intro.
wrt saving qt streams:
it makes a difference which version of qt, pro/no,
2.5 (free) could save, 3.0 ($ upgrade before save). there are times when going back a version enabled functions 'improved' in newer revs.
(this may be moot if MWNY streams are QT5/6 only)
but... as noted prior in this thread, stream performance (and HD defrag/perf too... min 7200rpm for good vidcap) will limit usable capture quality such that the day or two wait until apple archives a tweaked d/l may not be worth it.
it's not like you'll be the only contestant in line for the fat pipe that day...
dropout during the jawdropping intros might cause corruption and stress on top of anticipatory anxieties, already in progress
- many other factors in your config, let alone web traffic may degrade things further... if you're hoping to read URLs of Steve's screen, the stream probably won't hold the res of the optimized and recoded d/l
that said... os X (and some other Unix) video playback engines make use of a hardware abstraction layer that CAN be stripped off and recorded by "tapping" that feed prior to screen display and dumping a 'copy' of said info out to device (vhs tape, file, etc)
[i think this is the basis of Snapz Pro's claim to capture video and stills from DVD and QT... some copyright issues here methinks.]
[[Snapz Pro X can even capture images and movies that are playing on your DVD Player if you have an
nVidia graphics card!]]
your qt prefs have a tickbox for "save movies in disk cache" and as others have noted, a sherlock search (perhaps by size >x and date) will help
but the dynamic cache isn't an obvious .mov or .qt
* bonus qt trick to impress friends *
though it probably won't work for streams,
qt is the only player i'm aware of that will
PLAY MOVIES BACKWARDS! (yoda makes more sense) partway through a movie press Apple+leftarrow
browsers usually back up a page, but QT reverses
(complete with oddly parsed audio).
satanic messages not discovered yet, but i haven't watched the ballmer dance recently to check
wrt 9/11 video and coverage (for ZO and NoahJ):
part of the 5 TERABYTES in the "WayBack Machine" www.archive.org
incl: comprehensive collections of 9/11 coverage from media outlets worldwide (nhk, bbc, azteca)

have you ever seen the QT Steam session? The end was hillarious... about the QT Team and standards, etc.

Yup, they do one of those "Stooopid Production" each year. Last year was "Quality is Version 4.1.1" (about QT 4.1.1).
MWSF 2002?
Thanks in advance,
