So your excuse for why Skype always worked over 3G and FaceTime didn't is?

So your explanation for why FaceTime Audio will magically be allowed over 3G despite years of evidence to dissuade you from that is…?

Loaded questions. Stop framing like a troll.

Nah, valid ones. If you can't come up with anything, that's fine. It sort of proves my point, anyway.

Terms like "excuse" and "magically" reveal you for what you are. You bait, name call, insult, discourage discourse. AI has to tolerate this only because you carry their water by beating back shills. I don't believe you are willing to consider operational reasoning. You're content with claiming deception, coercion, price fixing, laziness but provide no proof - details you don't tolerate from the AI members you berate. When the negative cant be proven to your satisfaction you assert that is proof of your suppositions.

    TS = AI approved troll.

All you have to do is go into regular FaceTime and then press the top lock button. It then becomes audio only. I've been doing it that way for a year.

Isn't this what Skype offers for years

So, to recap, you have no argument and no explanation for why FaceTime was blocked over 3G and Skype wasn't, so you also have no reason to believe that Audio FaceTime won't be blocked.

I'll say it again: it's going to be blocked on 3G at launch, never mind that Skype never has been.

    Bingo!

And Skype doesn't have to negotiate with carriers to get their platform directly connected to the carriers' own $100B asset (+ annual operations costs and life cycle).

And Skype doesn't have to worry about a huge % of their customers who aren't geeky smartphone users Mod'ing forums while mommy delivers hot pockets. Said users perhaps not buying a $600+ handset or tablet every year.

And much of Skype is NOT 1G, 2G, 3G/semi-4G connected.

And Skype cares less about experience than Apple (IMHO)

And Apple's isn't free. Both ends still have to pay for ISP connectivity.

Not mocking, mimicking. This is how you treat people. People who may believe in what they type. You offer no proof of your lie accusations but require proof of others.

    Troll.

    I kind of don't care.

1- Facetime still freezes after 5 minutes to my Mom's iMac from whatever else (Snow Leopard contre iPad/iPad Mini/iPhone 4/iPhone 5/Mountain Lion/Lion). Thread at Apple Forums is long like (insert supermodel's name)'s legs. Apple no does anything.

2- Facetime is an open standard. Oh, wait, no it never became the open standard Steve promised.

I'll admit to my shame that 1 is much more important than 2 to me ^^'

Do I really need a link to where it says FaceTime wasn't allowed over 3G? There's such a thing as common knowledge.

Facetime was never blocked over 3G on Sprint nor Verizon if memory serves, nor is it blocked on T-Mobile. It was also only blocked for certain plans on AT&T and they are removing those restrictions which means it won't be blocked on any major carrier.Since you are not a subscriber of any of the big 4 carriers nor do you have an iPhone you possibly weren't aware of this fact. Since they didn't block video FaceTime there is little reason to believe they would block audio facetime either.

Please provide a link since your common knowledge seems to be quite contrary to my experience as both a Sprint and Verizon subscriber.

Hey, thanks for backing up my point.

Since they didn't block video FaceTime…

Ah, see, except they did. You just said so yourself. Funny how that works, huh.

Maybe I'm not understanding your feature request, but this is already possible, in Messages under Mountain Lion.

R… really? I've never found it. There's the buddy list that shows Jabber, AIM, and Google Talk, but it doesn't show iMessage. You have to enter those manually every time you want to start a conversation with someone.

They'll make up further lies about why Skype will be allowed but FaceTime won't.

Where's your mobile hardware and software platform with 300,000,000 users, then? Go on, show us.

It was only ever banned on some old grandfather plans on AT&T and even they are now allowing facetime over 3G to all their plans. Sprint, Verizon, nor T-Mobile never banned it. Stop backtracking and admit your were dead wrong.

Does your rules of the troll include cherry picking only parts of a quote? Or how about completing backtracking on previous statements instead of just admitting that your were unequivocally wrong. Still waiting on that link where facetime was ever blocked by Sprint, Verizon, or T-Mobile.
