Yep - Apple is blind to the needs of it's demographic.
Daniel does it again! For ten years, Daniel has fought the good fight against what, way back, we called FUD. Sad to say, the mudderfudders are still out there.
Great article, thank you for that information. I have long questioned the content spoonfed to the public by "responsible" agencies riddled with constant propaganda. I believe every intelligent, self-respecting citizen should always do the same. No surprise that well-informed (or, should I say "correctly-informed") consumers ignore the slanted media information permeating much of our beloved information highway and choose high quality, beautifully performing and useful Apple products. For so many years I listened to what others told me and suffered through Microsoft Windows and Android mobile products. Three years ago I inherited an old iPhone 3G and it changed my life. Now I thoroughly enjoy life with my iPhone 4 (on which I am writing this post - still going strong!), MacBook Air, iPad Mini, and my son now uses my old iPhone 3. I cannot imagine a scenario when I would ever go back.
Were the various analysts and pundits really wrong?... must continue to punish Apple for being the only company that refuses to tow the line and do what the "experts" think is best for Apple.
I think your sentiment is good, however, "tow the line" doesn't mean what you think it does. Plus, you got the cliché wrong.

Apple doesn't care about people who share your caveman mentality, and neither do I. Apple is at the forefront of innovation and everything that you state would be a terrible idea. You are living in the past, it's time to join the future.
The amount of outright lies that some of the media peddles about Apple truly shows that the people who write such garbage are incredibly bad people and even worse journalists, and the people who actually believe what they write are just dumb, gullible and naive. They would fall for practically anything.
What school of journalism did these people go to, the Leni Riefenstahl school of journalism?
It must be humiliating for Samsung to have its flagship phones bested by the 5C.
Maybe that's partly why Samsung has lied about sales figures, inflated market share, paid journalists to bash apple, and paid forum contributors to trash apple.
No matter. The cream, Apple, rises. The rest sink.
Companies like Google and Amazon can only defy gravity for so long.
Google despite all the talk about Google Glass this, and self parking cars that, is still a company that relies heavily on the shrinking incoming from desktop search advertising.
And Amazon despite its loss leading products, is losing a great deal of money on a regular basis.
Only Apple has a healthy ecosystem, business model, and growth prospects.
Where Android will continue to dominate is toward the lower half of the market, where Apple doesn't compete.
It just happened a few days ago and only for selected countries: Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Poland, and the Czech Republic to name a few.
EDIT: Island Hermit has a longer list of countries in the next post.
Oh, well that makes sense. Well, what they seem to be doing is getting deals ahead of the product transition in the US market. When they do their product refresh, the 5C will become the new 4S entry level product, the 5S will become the 5C replacement, and then the iPhone 6 (~5 inch) and a iPhone 6S (4inch 5s replacement????).
I just rarely go to other countries Apple Store sites. :-)
Maybe that's partly why Samsung has lied about sales figures, inflated market share, paid journalists to bash apple, and paid forum contributors to trash apple.
All true. I just wanted to add that Samsung also cheats on their benchmarks.
I've said this before, but anybody buying into Android is buying a lie. It's all a huge lie.
To me, it feels like a lot of 'experts' and 'analysts' are just trying to talk up the competition to Apple. There seems to be this "Let's cheer for the underdogs!" spirit about it.
But I also see the old division between Mac and PC users here.
I use Apple mobile products - and a PC. What I'd like for iOS is a better file system. Why do I have to copy a PDF file from one app to another? Besides this, iOS is running laps around Windows/Android - with an almost arrogant elegance.

Is this a joke post? Please tell me this is a joke post. It's a fucking duplicate of the posts we saw in 2007-2008, claiming that these are the reasons the iPhone (and iPad) will fail, and how it couldn't "compete" with other options.
Hundreds and hundreds of millions of sales later, and when the iPhone has become the most popular smartphone on the planet, when Apple has by far the healthiest mobile ecosystem, when they're sucking up most of the industry profits, you're still beating the same fucking dead horse. It's stunning, really. Goes to show people like can't even bother to take reality into account when making your claims, it has absolutely no impact on what you spew, and stems simply from an ideology that you will parrot like a broken record.
You don't have the intellectual integrity and courage to admit you were proven absolutely and completely wrong- instead you keep claiming that you will be right "sometime in the future", and somehow mainstream people will suddenly start giving a shit about that list, that Apple's impending doom is around corner unless they start going against every single philosophy that made them so insanely successful. Why the **** will what made Apple mainstream suddenly make them niche? What a brilliant logical analysis. These are not "iOS failure" but your own utter failure to see how utterly wrong you are. When the hell will you allow reality to cover your view? The answer is never. It's easier to live in your insane bubble, where you can happily believe you're right. It's like insisting the sky is not blue even having seen it a thousand times.
Whenever I see a new DED article, I immediately drop what I'm doing, go find a comfortable place to sit and settle in for a good read, of both the article and associated comments. Which is what I'm going to do right now with this article.
Apple introduced a 8GB 5C? In what country? On Apple's US site, they only have 16GB and 32GB listed. I thought that was a 4S they did that with.
Here:
Quote:
In March of 2014, Apple introduced the 8 GB iPhone 5c as a lower-cost iPhone option in mid-tier markets where LTE is growing rapidly. The 8 GB iPhone 5c was initially available in the UK, France, Germany, Australia, and China, but Apple released it in 16 additional European countries in April.

Yeah. The same hundreds of millions of people who bought a Samsung…AND you of course.
I think where everyone got the 5C wrong was first, it was supposed to be a cheap phone. Apple doesn't make cheap stuff, maybe other than the iPod Shuffle which even then if you think about what it is, is actually quite expensive even though it's not priced very high compared to other Apple products. The 5C is still an expensive phone, especially if you live where there are no subsidies, yet it still sells quite well.
Second, there were those that thought Apple was supposed to sell more of the 5C, than the 5S, or at least be neck and neck with sales. I never expected this and always thought the 5S would sell more than the 5C. In fact, I think it would be a slap in the face if the 5C outsold the 5S, or really came anywhere near it in sales. I don't think the 5C was meant to be a mass seller like the 5S.
These are things that I've gathered in my head from here in the AI forums and reading around the net since the 5C was announced and it seems like so far everyone was wrong about the 5C. Like I've said, I see more 5C's around my area than I do the 5S. I think you WILL see an iPhone 6C. Maybe different form factor, larger screen, and different colors, but there will be a 6C. Apple can't go without it.
Bottom-line, this is exactly why you never listen to analysts. They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground, yet they always seem to think they know how to run Apple better than Apple. Sometimes people doubt Tim Cook, but I think it would be very wrong to displace him for someone else who sure, may be able to get more profits and push products out faster but it shouldn't be about the profits. Not only does he know what he's doing, he also knows how to properly manage inventory levels and things like that which also helps with profits. I also don't think some people realize how much work goes into getting a product to market and in consumers hands, especially when you're designing products that are difficult to mass produce yet Apple always seems to come through. Sure, they may be behind at first but they always catch up and the quality never goes down beyond an issue here and there if that even happens.
........ Google separated Motorola from themsleves and at the end stated they couldn't give the effort needed to make moto a success so they sold it off.........
This sounds like Google's version of: "Honest, it's not you, it's me. ????
