I haven't used it so I don't know what you're talking about really, I'd expect it to know how to use SuperDrives. But if it can't just burn the image with iDVD or Toast. Let me know how it goes and if it plays in set-tops and PS2s, as well as your Mac.
I just ripped a DVD using 42, and the video looks great, but I get no sound. The Movie Properties list MPEG Layer 3 as the sound format, and I even ran it through DivX Validator from <a href="http://www.divx.com." target="_blank">www.divx.com.</a> Anyone have any ideas?

I used the program 42 and I should correct myself, running it through Divx Validator did work. If anyone has gotten video but not sound using 42, this might be worth a shot.
i have an .avi(divx) that i ripped with Mencoder for OS X, and i was wondering how do i mak ethis into a DVD disc now?!
please i just need like 2min worth fo an explination so i can do it</strong><hr></blockquote>
all of my divx stuff imports straight into iDVD just by drag and dropping. If not I convert to .mov and then import to iDVD. I have made tons of DVDs this way.

...i thought iDVD had an artificial limit of 90min?
its weird with that issue. Some movies have been fine, and others not. I haven't figured out what makes some work while I have to split up others. But, from your post, I thought you just wanted to know how to be able to burn them. So, if you figure it out, let me know. Because I guess I just misunderstood the question. Again, this was with iDVD2, and only some movies worked.

no you helped and answerd my question and i thank you
from what i understand the movie(with sound) is in one of the .vob files...if i rip that (with dvdbakup)...is there a way i can burn that to a DVD and then just have the movie?
<strong>Nope I don't think so. There are different soundtracks.
Also I got the QT6 MPEG-2 Plug in but when I open .vob's in QT 6.1 they play only a few secs from the beginning of each chapter. WTF? No sound either.
So yea, does Forty-two copy DVDs entirely? Does it work? This is what I am hinging my decision on: PBG4 12" Combo or SupaDrive.</strong><hr></blockquote>
i've never successfully used it, it takes forever (on a 733MHz PM G4 with 768RAM...Pioneer A05)
I too have been unsuccessful at using 42. It wil test play fine, but when it comes time to make the movie, it fails.
To split the movie just copy half of it and paste into a new player, rename part 2. then cut that which you just copied(and verified worked prior to cutting). Your movie is now split. Then drag first half, burn, then do the second half and burn. All of this within Quicktime and iDVD.
Well I'm going to the NH Apple Store in Salem this Friday, and buying a SuperDrive if someone here gets Forty-Two to work. Has anyone successfully duped a DVD with it?
Comments
It was hard to find. For Classic it's the best option to simply copy DVD (compression looks so crappy and needs a fast comp anyway.)
Forty-Two is now where it's at.
