Kim Kap Sol, you take that Back! I lived in Canada for my 21st year of life, and I loved it... sure, they dress kinda funny, and have a penchant for cheese curd and gravy all over their fries... but Canadian's rule! (I say that because I have cousins there, and they would slapshot my ass, eh!)
The thing is Canada should technically be the easiest market to grab with the US iTMS in place. There is no reason why it took more than a year for iTMS Canada to show up since we basically have the same labels and music taste.
The only thing I can think of is that Canada is making it a real pain in the ass for Apple to put the store up because of some of the pain in the ass laws over here. Living in Canada is a pain in the ass.
I REALLY think the problem might be with Quebec. This province likes a lot fo control over everything... don't get me wrong I am a Quebecer by birth and love this country but Quebec just gets to me sometimes. Wouldn't be shocked if Quebec were requesting/requiring that a certain quanitity of artists promoted on the main iTunes Music Store page be from Quebec... thereby creating that much more work for Apple,
Well...I'm 95% sure there won't be an iTMS Canada tomorrow. There would be some talk about it by now like there is about iTMS Europe. It's pretty much confirmed for Europe but it looks like the next door neighbour will be left behind. I'm getting used to it.
Fucked on prices, fucked on iTMS, fucked on stores. Bring it Apple...I'm bendin' over right now.
woke up to radio 5, with an interview of an independent music label owner. radio 5 were giving it big about itunes, and the bloke said 'they only gave us a week to work out the deal, which was far too short'. and the terms apple were offering were commercial suicide. but when pressed he did agree they could not afford to *not* sign...

[EDIT] It's 1107 and iTunes is still telling me that the music store isn't available in my country [/EDIT]
The Apple Online Stores (US and German) are still up and running, so I guess we will see the iTMS opening only - no "one more thing" ;-(
- the event is about to start
- Sixtis music playing
Look here
Hope this won't hold things up.
- 85 million songs sold through iTMS
- iTMS coming to Germany, France and the UK
- some words on the competition (OD2, Virgin)
- main competition is piracy
